Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus (John 11:5).
Jesus treated all women with dignity (John 4:27). Now, he had a greater esteem for women who did the will of his Father. It is interesting that when he mentioned those he considered part of his spiritual family, he included both men and women (Matt. 12:50). Furthermore, Jesus was always a true friend to them. Let us think of the friendship he had with Mary and Martha, who were apparently single (Luke 10: 38-42). It is clear that, by his way of speaking and treating them, he made them feel comfortable. Mary had the confidence to sit at the feet of her Master to learn from him. And Martha had no qualms about telling Jesus that she was upset that Mary was not helping her. He took advantage of this informal occasion to give them some valuable teachings. In addition, he showed his interest in them and his brother, Lázaro, visiting them on other occasions (John 12:1-3). No wonder, when Lazarus became seriously ill, Mary and Martha did not hesitate to ask him for help (John 11:3). w20.09 20 para. 3; 21 para. 6
How did Jesus show that he valued the women who accompanied him in his ministry?
Jesus appreciated the help of some faithful women who “used their possessions” to care for him (Luke 8:1-3). And he not only allowed them to have that honor, but he also revealed deep spiritual truths to them. For example, he revealed to them that he was going to die and rise again (Luke 24:5-8). As he had done with the apostles, he prepared these women for the difficult times they would face as he watched him suffer and die (Mark 9:30-32; 10:32-34). And he notes that when Jesus was arrested and the apostles fled, some of them did not leave him while he lay dying on the tree (Matt. 26:56; Mark 15:40, 41).
What job did Jesus give some women?
Jesus entrusted some women with important tasks. For example, the first people to witness his resurrection were faithful women. He charged them to tell the apostles that she had risen (Matt. 28:5, 9, 10). And, on Pentecost 33 AD, when the holy spirit was poured out, women were most likely present. If so, these newly anointed Christian women were able to receive the miraculous gift of “speaking of the magnificent things of God” in different languages (Acts 1:14; 2:2-4, 11).
