DAILY TEXT, Today's Saturday February 12, 2022

Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Saturday February 12, 2022

Pay constant attention to your conduct and your teaching (1 Tim. 4:16).

The student must understand that the purpose of the course is to help him/her become one of Jehovah's Witnesses. The sincere student of the Bible takes several steps to get to baptism. First, he comes to know and love Jehovah, and puts his faith in him (John 3:16; 17:3). Later, he becomes a friend of God and of the brothers of the congregation (Heb. 10:24, 25; Jas. 4: 8). In time, he stops doing bad things and repents of his sins (Acts 3:19). Meanwhile, his faith prompts him to speak the truth with others (2 Cor. 4:13). Finally, he dedicates himself to Jehovah and is baptized in symbol of his dedication (1 Pet. 3:21; 4:2). Without a doubt, this is a very happy day for all. As the student takes steps, congratulate him generously and encourage him to continue progressing. w20.10 18 paras. 12, 13

What will get the student excited about what they are learning?

It is important for the student to see the enthusiasm and conviction with which we speak about the teachings of the Bible (1 Thess. 1:5). That way he's more likely to get excited about what he's learning. Perhaps we can tell you how Bible principles have benefited us in our lives. This will help you see that they can be useful in yours as well.

How can we enrich the Bible course, and why?

As we study, let's tell the student about experiences of siblings who have overcome problems similar to the ones he has. Could you benefit from the example of a brother in the congregation? So, let's ask him to come with us. We can also use uplifting experiences from the “The Bible Changed Their Lives” series on jw.org.* These articles and videos will help you see the good results of following Bible principles.

What can we do to encourage the student to talk with his family and friends about what he is learning?

If the person is married and their spouse is not studying, why don't we invite them to join the classes? Also, let's encourage the student to talk with his family and friends about what he is learning (John 1: 40-45). It can be as simple as saying, “How would you explain this point to your family?” or “What text would you use to explain this idea to a friend?” This is a way to prepare the student to become a teacher. Then, when he meets the requirements to be an unbaptized publisher, he can start preaching with the congregation. We can ask him if he knows anyone who is interested in learning about the Bible. If he says yes, contact the person as soon as possible and offer him a Bible study. Let's show him the video What are our Bible courses like?*
