Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Wisdom is worth more than corals; it cannot be compared with anything one desires (Prov. 3:15).

One reason the truths found in God's Word are valuable is that Jehovah only reveals them to people who are humble and have “the right attitude.”—Acts 13:48. These people accept the means that God uses to get those truths to us today (Matt. 11:25; 24:45). We cannot learn these truths on our own. Coming to understand them is far more valuable than anything else (Prov. 3:13). Jehovah has also entrusted us with the honor of teaching others the truth about him and his purposes (Matt. 24:14). This message is invaluable because it helps them become part of Jehovah's family and gives them the opportunity to have eternal life (1 Tim. 4:16). Whether we do a lot or a little in the ministry, we are supporting the most important work of our day (1 Tim. 2:3, 4). What a great honor it is to be able to collaborate with God! (1 Cor. 3:9). w20.09 26, 27 paras. Four. Five

Why should we be disciplined?

Let's be disciplined. A soldier has to be disciplined if he wants to do his duty. Timothy fulfilled his duty as a soldier of Christ because he followed Paul's inspired counsel to flee from wrong desires, cultivate Christian qualities, and associate with his brothers (2 Tim. 2:22). For this he had to be disciplined. And so must we if we want to win the fight against our evil desires (Rom. 7:21-25). Furthermore, we must be disciplined if we want to keep taking off the old personality and putting on the new one (Eph. 4:22, 24). And, when we are tired at the end of a long day, we may have to force ourselves to go to the meeting (Heb. 10:24, 25).

What will help us be better Bible teachers?

If a soldier wants to use weapons well, he has to practice regularly. Similarly, Christians must know how to handle the Word of God well (2 Tim. 2:15). Meetings help us learn some ways to do that. But, if we want to convince people of the true value of Bible truth, we must have a personal Bible study program. We have to strengthen faith with the help of the Word of God. But just reading it is not enough. We must meditate on the verses we read and investigate what our publications have said in order to understand them well and know how to explain them (1 Tim. 4:13-15). Thus we will be prepared to teach others using the Bible. Of course, it is not enough to read them a text. We want to help them understand it and see how it affects them. So if we study the Bible regularly,we will be better teachers (2 Tim. 3:16, 17).

According to Hebrews 5:14, why should we use our powers of discernment?

Let us use our “discernment capacity”. A soldier must know how to anticipate danger and avoid it. We must also know how to identify situations that could harm us and then avoid danger (read Hebrews 5:14; Prov. 22:3). For example, we must choose the entertainment well. TV shows and movies often contain immoral content. We Christians reject this kind of entertainment because it could weaken our love for Jehovah little by little. We know that God hates immorality and that people who lead immoral lives harm themselves and others (Eph. 5:5, 6).
