Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2021

He has to die (Est. 4:11).

Let's imagine that we lived in Persia about 2,500 years ago and that we wanted to talk to the king. It would not occur to us to appear in front of him without having received his permission, as doing so could cost us our lives. We are certainly very grateful that Jehovah is not like the kings of Persia. We can contact him at any time. God wants us to feel free to talk to him. It is true that he has imposing titles such as Great Creator, Almighty, and Sovereign Lord. However, he wants us to use a more familiar term: "Father" (Matt. 6: 9). Isn't it moving that Jehovah wants us to have such a close and loving relationship with him? We can rightly call Jehovah "Father" because he has given us life. --Psalm 36: 9. Since he is our Father, we have an obligation to obey him. If we do what he tells us, we will enjoy wonderful blessings (Heb. 12: 9). One of them is eternal life, whether in heaven or on Earth. w20.02 2 paras. 1-3

According to Matthew 11:27, how has Jehovah helped us to see him as a loving Father?

How has Jehovah helped us to see him as a loving Father? One way has been by collecting the words and actions of Jesus in the Bible (read Matthew 11:27). Jesus so perfectly reflected the personality of his Father that he could say the following: "He who has seen me has seen the Father also" (John 14: 9). He spoke many times of Jehovah's role as Father. In fact, in the four Gospels alone he called him Father about 165 times. Why did he talk so much about Jehovah? Among other reasons, because he wanted people to be convinced that Jehovah is a loving Father. --John 17:25, 26.

What do we learn about Jehovah when we examine how he treated his Son?

Let's see how Jehovah treated his Son, Jesus, and what this teaches us about him. God always heard the prayers of his Son, and also answered them (John 11:41, 42). Jesus always felt the love and support of his Father no matter what trial he faced (Luke 22:42, 43).

In what ways did Jehovah care for Jesus?

Jesus recognized that his Father had given him life and everything necessary to maintain it. He said, "I live for the Father's sake" (John 6:57). Jesus unreservedly trusted him, and Jehovah provided for his physical needs. But the most important thing is that he cared for him spiritually (Matt. 4: 4).

How did Jehovah show his love for Jesus?

Jehovah demonstrated that he is a loving Father by ensuring that Jesus knew that he had his support. --Matt. 26:53; John 8:16. It is true that it did not protect him from all dangers, but it helped him endure difficulties. Jesus knew that any harm he suffered would be temporary (Heb. 12: 2). Jehovah showed that he cared for his Son by listening to him, giving him what he needed, educating him and helping him. --John 5:20; 8:28. Let us now see how our heavenly Father cares for us in these ways.
