They imitate God as beloved children (Eph. 5: 1).

The more we know about Jehovah's personality, the more we can become like him. David treated other people as his heavenly Father would because he knew him well. Because David was a close friend of Jehovah, he became one of the most beloved kings and the one with whom God compared the other kings of Israel (1 Kings 15:11; 2 Kings 14: 1-3). The lesson? We must imitate God. When we try to make our personalities reflect that of God, we show that we are his children (Eph. 4:24). We will never stop learning about Jehovah (Eccl. 3:11). But the important thing is not how much we know about it, but what we do with what we know. If we put into practice what we learn and try to imitate our loving God, he will continue to draw closer to us (James 4: 8). In his Word, he assures us that he will never leave those who seek him. w19.12 20 par. twenty; 21 paras. 21, 23

What did Moses decide to do?

Moses acted on what he learned. When he was in his 40s, he decided to side with God's people, the Hebrews, instead of being known as “the son of Pharaoh's daughter” (Heb. 11:24). Moses turned his back on an important position. By siding with the Hebrews, who were slaves in Egypt, he risked the wrath of Pharaoh, a powerful ruler who was considered a god. Without a doubt, Moses demonstrated extraordinary faith and trust in Jehovah. That trust is the foundation of an abiding friendship (Prov. 3: 5).

What do we learn from the example of Moses?

What do we learn? That, like Moses, we must all decide whether we will serve God and be part of his people or not. Serving Jehovah may mean making sacrifices and being opposed by those who do not know him. But if we trust our heavenly Father, we are sure that he will help us.

What did Moses continue to learn?

Moses continued to learn about Jehovah's qualities and doing his will. For example, when Jehovah asked him to deliver the nation of Israel, Moses lacked self-confidence and told him several times that he did not feel qualified for that mission. In response, God showed him great compassion and helped him (Ex. 4: 10-16). As a result, Moses was able to give Pharaoh strong messages of condemnation. Later, he saw Jehovah use his power when he saved the Israelites and wiped out Pharaoh and his armies at the Red Sea (Ex. 14: 26-31; Ps. 136: 15).
