Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2021

They imitate God as beloved children (Eph. 5: 1).
As we are Jehovah's “beloved children”, we do our best to copy his example. We imitate their qualities by being loving and kind, and forgiving others. When people who don't know God see our good behavior, they may want to learn more about him (1 Pet. 2:12). Christian parents have a good reason to treat their children the way Jehovah treats us. If they do, your children may also want to be friends with our loving Father. We are proud of our heavenly Father and we want others to know him. We feel like King David, who wrote: “I will speak of Jehovah with pride” (Ps. 34: 2). But it may happen that some of us are shy and do not dare to talk about it. What will help us in that case? Focus on how happy we can make Jehovah and how much benefit those who know him benefit. He will give us the courage we need. Just as he helped our first century brethren, he will also help us (1 Thess. 2: 2). w20.02 11 paras. 12, 13
According to 1 John 5: 3, what is the main reason we obey Jehovah?
Jehovah expects children to obey their parents, and he also wants us to obey him (Eph. 6: 1). He deserves it because he created us, keeps us alive, and is the wisest Father there is. But the main reason we obey Jehovah is that we love him. --Read 1 John 5: 3. It is true that there are plenty of reasons to obey it, but it does not oblige us. He has given us freedom of choice, so he is glad when we choose to obey him out of love.
Why is it important to know God's standards and live by them?
Parents want their children to do well. Therefore, they set standards of conduct. Children who obey them show that they trust and respect their parents. For of much greater importance is that we know the standards of our heavenly Father and live by them. This is how we show Jehovah that we love and respect him. And as a result, life is going well for us (Isa. 48:17, 18). On the contrary, those who reject God and his standards end up hurting themselves (Gal. 6: 7, 8).
Living in a way that pleases Jehovah protects us physically, emotionally and spiritually. He knows what is best for us. A sister in the United States named Aurora says: "I know that obedience to Jehovah always results in the best life possible." And so it is in all cases. Let us ask ourselves: "How has following Jehovah's loving direction benefited me?"
How does prayer help us?
Prayer helps us to be obedient even when it is difficult for us. Because we are all sinners, sometimes we must struggle to obey Jehovah. But we have to keep doing it. A psalmist pleaded with God, "Awaken in me the desire to obey you" (Psalm 51:12). A regular pioneer named Denise says, "If I find it difficult to obey a command from Jehovah, I ask for the strength to do the right thing." Let us not doubt it: God will always answer those kinds of prayers (Luke 11: 9-13).
