Congregation Book Study, July 26 to August 1, 2021, Chapter 11, Paragraphs. 9-17, Answers.

Congregation Bible Study (30 min.): Rr ch. 11 paras. 9-17.

9. How did Jehovah demonstrate loyal love?

We see that even though the Israelites time and again turned their backs on Jehovah and worshiped false Gods, Jehovah still demonstrated loyal love by sending sentinels not only to warn the righteous, but also the wicked, those who they had hurt his feelings and tainted his reputation.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Then we see that Jehovah despite the disloyalty of the Israelites, did not give them up quickly, but sought reconciliation, since as mentioned in Ezekiel 33:11, Jehovah does not like the death of his enemies, but rather they like it when they change their course of life.

Sending sentries to warn everyone despite Israel's turning away from Jehovah. The sword was the last option. He has never liked the death of anyone.

10, 11. What can we learn from seeing how Jehovah treated his people?

We can learn that when we preach to people we should not see it as a mass message, but as people with their own identity, nor should we judge a person and think that they do not deserve to take the message because of their past, their physical appearance, origin , social class or way of speaking.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

We also learn that we should not think that since we have served Jehovah for years in the past, so now we can relax, since we have the same tendencies to sin as anyone else, so we must not lower our guard, but maintain an attitude humble and obedient.

We must see the people we preach to as individuals. We do not want to imagine that they do not want to hear the truth because of their origin, social condition, physical appearance, etc. We should not use our past good deeds as excuses for evil. We must remain humble and obedient.

12. If we committed serious sins in the past, what should we keep in mind?

We must bear in mind that Jehovah is a God of love, and that our sins are too great for God to forgive us, and we can recall the example of the Israelites, as Jehovah was willing to forgive them even though they had betrayed him many times.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

That Jehovah is a God of love and not of vengeance. But who will punish those who sin and do not repent. If we do, Jehovah will forgive our sins no matter how great proof the forgiven sins of the rebellious Israelites have been.

"Speak to the children of your people"

13, 14. a) What kind of message did the sentries have to announce?

We see that they had to proclaim warnings or warnings, but also good news.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Ezekiel 33: 2,3: "Son of man, speak to the sons of your people and tell them:" Suppose I command a sword against a country and all the people of that country choose one man and make him their sentry, 3 and He sees the sword coming against the country, blows the horn and warns the people.

Mainly giving warnings, but they also gave good news

b) What messages did Isaiah proclaim?

For example, around 778-732 BC, Isaiah warned the people that the Babylonians would conquer Jerusalem and take its inhabitants into exile, but he also announced that true worship would be restored.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

He warned the Israelites that they would be conquered by the Babylonians and would be taken into exile. But he also said that Jehovah would bring them back to Jerusalem to restore pure worship.

15. What messages did Jeremiah announce?

We see that during the years 647 and 580 before our era, Jeremiah did an extraordinary job of warning the wicked Israelites of the calamities that Jehovah was going to send them, but he also announced good news, such as that the people of God would return to their land and that pure worship would be restored there.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Although they accused him of being a bird of ill omen that only gave bad news. What he was doing was warning what Jehovah would bring as consequences of his wrongdoings. But it also gave good news of the restoration of pure worship.

16. How did Ezekiel's message help the captive Jews?

During the years 613 and 591 before our era, Ezekiel strongly warned the people of Israel about the destruction that would befall them, in this way not only warned that Jehovah would punish the apostates, but also his message helped them stay spiritually awake and ready for all that would have to be done.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Alerting them to what was coming upon them and helped keep them spiritually strong and alert. The grandchildren and children of the Israelites who listened returned after 70 years of exile. Confirming pure worship in Jerusalem.

17. When does Jehovah appoint sentries?

We see that whenever something crucial is going to happen related to the fulfillment of his purpose, Jehovah appoints sentinels to warn the wicked and announce good news, exactly what is being done today, and each of us does the work of sentinels as they bring the good news to all people.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Every time something important is going to happen related to the fulfillment of its purpose, it appoints sentinels to warn the wicked and announce good news.
