Analysis of Lesson 92: Jesus Appears to the Fishermen

What miracle did Jesus perform when he met the fishermen?

When Jesus met the fishermen who had spent the whole night fishing and hadn't caught anything, he asked them if they had caught anything. They answered, "No." Then he told them to cast the net on the right side of the boat, and when they cast it, it was so full of fish that they couldn't haul it into the boat.

Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him, why do you think he asked him that?

Jesus asked Peter if he loved him, and he did so three times, the same number of times Peter had denied him. Although Jesus could see into people's hearts and knew very well that Peter loved him, he gave him the opportunity to confirm it himself. Furthermore, he entrusted him with feeding and shepherding his sheep. He had already entrusted him with preaching, but now Jesus was giving him the important responsibility of caring for those who would become his followers. This confirmed to Peter how much Jesus trusted him.

What does this account teach us about Jehovah?

This account teaches us that Jehovah is loving, merciful, and trusting of his servants. Although Peter had made a serious mistake by denying Jesus three times, Jehovah, through his Son, gave him the opportunity to demonstrate his love again and confirmed that he was still valuable and useful in his service.

It shows us that Jehovah cares about the needs of his servants, for Jesus cared for them after a night of hard work and prepared food for them.

What practical lessons can we learn?

We learn that if we make mistakes, we shouldn't think that Jehovah no longer values us. We can repent and continue serving him faithfully, as Peter did.

We must trust Jesus' instructions, even when we don't fully understand the situation. Our love for him must be shown through actions, not just words. Peter showed that love by accepting the responsibility of caring for Jesus' "little sheep."

We should be concerned about the spiritual welfare of our brothers and do all we can to strengthen and encourage them. It is also important to persevere and continue serving Jehovah faithfully, just as Jesus told Peter: “Keep following me.”

Analysis of Lesson 93: Jesus Returns to Heaven

What command did Jesus give to his disciples?

Jesus gave them the important command to make disciples. He told them: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations. Teach them everything I have taught you and baptize them.” He also promised that he would always be with them as they carried out this work.

What happened on the Mount of Olives?

On the Mount of Olives, Jesus met with his apostles for the last time after his resurrection. There he explained that they would soon receive the Holy Spirit and commissioned them to be his witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. After saying these things, Jesus ascended into heaven, and a cloud hid him from their sight. His disciples gazed upward until he disappeared, and then they returned to Jerusalem, where they waited for Jesus to give them further instructions.

What does this account teach us about Jehovah?

This account teaches us that Jehovah always keeps his promises and guides his servants by means of his holy spirit. It also shows that he wants people of all nations to have the opportunity to know him and become his disciples. Furthermore, Jehovah strengthens and equips his servants so that they can accomplish the tasks he assigns them.

What practical lessons can we learn?

We learn that we must obey the instructions of Jehovah and Jesus, even when we do not immediately understand all the details. It is also important to share in the disciple-making work and to share Jesus’ teachings with others.

We learn that we can trust Jehovah to give us the help and strength we need to fulfill our spiritual responsibilities.

We learn that we must be patient and wait for Jehovah's timing for his purposes to be fulfilled. Prayer and association with other servants of God help us to remain steadfast while we wait for Jehovah's guidance.
