Jehovah protects the faithful (Psalm 31:23).
When we stay close to Jehovah, Satan cannot harm us beyond repair (1 John 3:8). And in the new world, Jehovah will continue to protect his faithful friends from all spiritual harm and from death (Rev. 21:4).
What a great honor it is that Jehovah allows us to dwell in his tent, granting us the eternal enjoyment of his friendship! (Ezek. 37:27) But how should we conduct ourselves if we want to remain his guests? If someone invited us into their home, we would want to know what they expected us to do. Likewise, we want to know what Jehovah expects us to do in order to remain in his tent. We love him so much that we strive to please him in everything (Col. 1:10). We should never forget who he is. The fear of Jehovah will help us to avoid any conduct that could offend him and to walk “modestly” with our God (Mic. 6:8). w24.06 4 pars. 8, 9
What example do we have of Jehovah treating all his servants fairly?
Jehovah has always been impartial to all his guests (Rom. 2:11). Consider, for example, the way he treated the Israelites encamped in the Sinai wilderness.
After freeing his people from slavery in Egypt, Jehovah appointed priests to serve at the tabernacle. He also assigned the Levites other tasks related to that sacred tent. Were those who served at the tabernacle or those who lived nearby better cared for? No, Jehovah cared for everyone equally.
How did Jehovah treat the Israelites fairly in the wilderness? (Exodus 40:38)
In the camp, everyone had the same opportunity to be Jehovah’s friend, regardless of their position or proximity to the tabernacle. Jehovah, for example, arranged for the entire nation to see the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire that appeared above the tabernacle (read Exodus 40:38). Thus, when the miraculous cloud began to move in a new direction, everyone—even those encamped farthest from the tabernacle—could see it, gather their belongings, take down their tents, and move with the rest of the nation (Numbers 9:15-23). Likewise, everyone could hear the announcement of the departure, for a clear signal was given by the loud blowing of two silver trumpets (Numbers 10:2). Clearly, living very close to the tabernacle did not make one a better friend of Jehovah. Rather, all who were members of Jehovah’s newly formed nation could be his guests and enjoy his guidance and protection. Today it is the same: wherever we live, Jehovah loves us, cares for us and protects us.
How does Jehovah demonstrate impartiality today?
Some Christians live near the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses or one of its branch offices. Others actually serve at these facilities. This enables them to participate in many of the activities there and to have personal contact with the brothers who direct the work. In addition, some are circuit overseers or share in other aspects of the full-time special service. But the vast majority do not enjoy these blessings. If this is your situation, be assured that Jehovah loves you, accepts you as a guest, and personally cares for you. (1 Pet. 5:7) Yes, God will give you, as he does all his servants, the spiritual food, guidance, and protection you need.
