APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, May 4-10, 2026, Start conversations: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making disciples: a work of love, Lesson 1, point 5). Assignment Prepared.
Start conversations (3 mins.) HOUSE TO HOUSE. Use a tract to start a conversation (lmd lesson 1 point 5).
Setting: The publisher initiates a conversation with a person and, using a tract, poses the question: What is the Kingdom of God? Through the Bible, the publisher answers that question and leaves open the possibility of a future visit.
Publisher: Good morning, how are you? My name is [name]. We are talking with the neighbors to share a message of encouragement and hope, especially after the recent rains and the damage they have caused.
Assistant: Good morning. Yes, the situation with the rains has been quite severe in this area. There was even a small landslide that affected several homes. I understand that humans can't control nature, but the authorities should be more attentive to the needs of the people: maintaining the sewer system, cleaning the ravines, and responding to emergencies. But, frankly, whoever is in power, everything seems to be going from bad to worse.
Publisher: I understand how you feel, and it's true that many people feel the same way—that the situation doesn't improve no matter who's in power. That makes us think about the need for a government different from all the current ones. Look, this treatise raises an interesting question: What is the Kingdom of God?
Assistant: I don't know. Could you explain it to me?
Publisher: Sure, but let's see what the Bible says. Would you mind reading Daniel 2:44?
Assistant: Of course. It says: “In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or left to any other people. This kingdom will crush all those kingdoms and put an end to them, and it alone will endure forever.”
Publisher: In short, this text explains that Jehovah, the God of heaven, will establish a government that will never be destroyed. In fact, it will replace all human governments. Now, can you imagine what life would be like under that Kingdom?
Assistant: That would be wonderful, because God can control nature. Then there would be no more landslides or floods, right?
Publisher: That's right. And not only that, there will be no illness, no old age, and no death.
Assistant: Not even death? That sounds a bit exaggerated.
Publisher: I understand that this may seem hard to believe. That's why I'd like to show you directly from the Bible, where we find reasons to trust these promises. Would it be alright if I visited you tomorrow around 2 p.m. to look at it in more detail?
Assistant: It's piqued my interest. Okay, you can come tomorrow afternoon.
Publisher: Perfect. I'll leave this document for you to read at your leisure, and I'll return tomorrow. If you don't mind, I'd like to take down your name and phone number.
Assistant: Sure, go ahead, take note.
