APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, April 20-26, 2026, Start conversations: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making disciples: a work of love, Lesson 1, point 4). Assignment Prepared.

Start conversations (2 mins.) FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. Use one of the truths in appendix A of the booklet A Work of Love (lmd lesson 1 point 4).

Setting: During house-to-house witnessing, the publisher starts a conversation with someone and notices some decorations related to the loss of a loved one. He then offers comfort by quoting a Bible text that shows the hope of seeing our loved ones again and leaves open the possibility of a future visit.

Publisher: Good morning. We're going around the neighborhood sharing a short Bible message. As I approached, I noticed the flowers next to the photo. It seemed to me like a memorial for someone dear who has passed away. Is that correct?

Assistant: Yes, that's my mother. She passed away recently.

Publisher: I am so sorry. Losing someone so close is incredibly painful. Sometimes, little things like seeing their photos or the things they loved make us miss them even more. It's precisely for moments like these that I'd like to share a promise from the Bible that has brought hope to many people.

Assistant: What kind of promise is that?

Publisher: It is in John 5:28, 29. Jesus said: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out: those who did good things, to a resurrection of life, and those who did evil things, to a resurrection of judgment.”

It's a very comforting promise, because it gives us hope of seeing our loved ones again. Imagine being able to reunite with your mother, healthy and free from suffering.

Assistant: It would be like a dream, really.

Publisher: Of course. And most importantly, Jesus not only spoke of that hope, but also demonstrated that Jehovah has the power to fulfill it. If you'd like, I could come back to you another time and show you from the Bible how we can be sure of that.

Assistant: Yes I'd like to.

Publisher: Thank you so much for your time. Have a good day.
