Let us examine the Scriptures every day 2026

Give to Jehovah what is due him, families of the peoples, give to Jehovah what is due him for his glory and strength (Psalm 96:7).
We give glory to Jehovah because we deeply respect him. We have many reasons to respect him. Jehovah is almighty; his energy is limitless (Psalm 96:4-7). His immense wisdom is clearly seen in what he has created. He has given us life and everything we need to sustain it (Revelation 4:11). He is loyal (Revelation 15:4). He succeeds in everything he does and always keeps his promises (Joshua 23:14).
With good reason the prophet Jeremiah told him: “Among all the wise men of the nations and among all their kingdoms, there is absolutely no one like you.” (Jer. 10:6, 7) Clearly, we have countless reasons to respect our heavenly Father. But he deserves not only respect; he also earns our love. So above all, we give glory to Jehovah because we love him with all our heart. w25.01 3 pars. 5, 6
Why do we love Jehovah?
We give glory to Jehovah because we love him with all our heart. Jehovah has many qualities that make us love him. For example, he is merciful and compassionate (Ps. 103:13; Isa. 49:15). When we suffer, he feels empathy and is pained by our suffering (Zech. 2:8). He helps us draw close to him and become his friends (Ps. 25:14; Acts 17:27). Furthermore, he is humble and “bends down to look at the heavens and the earth, to raise up the lowly one from the dust” (Ps. 113:6, 7). Who would not want to give glory to such a wonderful God? (Ps. 86:12).
What a wonderful opportunity we have!
We give glory to Jehovah because we want people to know him. Many have a mistaken idea about God. Why? Because Satan has spread terrible lies about him and blinded their minds (2 Cor. 4:4). He has convinced them that Jehovah is vengeful and indifferent and that he is to blame for much of the bad stuff that happens in the world. But we know the truth. And we have the opportunity to help people learn what our God is really like, and thus give him glory (Isa. 43:10). We will now analyze some verses from Psalm 96, which focuses on giving glory to Jehovah. This analysis will help us see ways to give God the glory he so richly deserves.
What is one way to give glory to Jehovah? (Psalm 96:1-3)
(Read Psalm 96:1-3.) We can glorify Jehovah by what we say about him. These verses invite God’s servants to sing to Jehovah, bless his name, proclaim the good news of his salvation, and declare his glory among the nations. All of these are ways to glorify our heavenly Father. Faithful Jews and first-century Christians alike took every opportunity to defend Jehovah’s name and speak of the good things God had done for them. (Dan. 3:16-18; Acts 4:29)
