Let's examine the Scriptures every day 2025

In God I put my trust; I am not afraid (Psalm 56:4).
When you feel afraid, ask yourself, “What has Jehovah done in the past?” On the one hand, think about the things he created. For example, when we observe that Jehovah cares for the birds and the flowers—which were not created in his image and cannot worship him—our confidence is strengthened that he will also care for us. (Matt. 6:25-32) On the other hand, think about what Jehovah has done for his servants. Perhaps you could analyze the example of faith of someone from Bible times or read about the experience of one of Jehovah’s servants today. Also, reflect on how Jehovah has cared for you so far. How has he helped you to know the truth? (John 6:44) How has he answered your prayers? (1 John 5:14) How do you benefit every day from the sacrifice he made in offering his beloved Son? (Eph. 1:7; Heb. 4:14-16) w24.01 3 par. 6; 7 para. 17
What will help us to be courageous when what Luke 21:26-28 says comes to pass?
During the great tribulation, most people will “faint with fear.” But God’s servants will be courageous and stand firm (read Luke 21:26-28). Why? Because we will be accustomed to trusting in Jehovah. Tanja says that her past experiences help her cope with other difficult situations: “I have learned that there is no situation in which Jehovah cannot help and bless us. Sometimes it may seem that other people are in control, but the reality is that they only have as much control as Jehovah allows them to have. No matter how difficult a trial is, sooner or later it will end.”
What helped Tanja overcome her fears?
Tanja is a sister from North Macedonia who overcame her fears by meditating on Jehovah’s promises. She relates that when she began studying the Bible, her parents became furious: “Just what I feared most came to pass. My mother would beat me every time I came home from the meeting. And she and my father threatened to kill me if I became a Witness.” They ended up throwing her out of the house. How did she react? She explains: “I focused on the thought that if I remained faithful to Jehovah, I would be very happy for all eternity. I told myself that even if I lost things in this system, in the new world Jehovah would reward me and make me forget all the bad memories.” Tanja remained faithful to Jehovah, and with his help, she found a place to live. Today, she is married to a loyal brother, and they both happily serve God full-time.
What can we reflect on?
When you feel afraid, meditate on what Jehovah will do in the future. Think about what life will be like when Satan is gone, when wicked people disappear and only good people remain, and when imperfection gradually fades away. A demonstration presented at the 2014 regional convention can help us reflect on our hope. In it, a brother was talking with his family about what 2 Timothy 3:1-5 would say if it were a prophecy about life in Paradise: “In the new world, very happy times will come. For people will love their neighbors; they will be lovers of spiritual treasures, modest and humble, they will honor God, they will be obedient to their parents, thankful and loyal, they will have great affection for their families, they will be willing to compromise, they will always speak well of others, they will have self-control, they will be meek, they will love what is good, they will be trustworthy and reasonable, they will not be proud at all, they will love God instead of pleasures, and their devotion to God will be sincere. Always stay close to them.” Do we often talk with our family or with our brothers and sisters about what life will be like in the new world?
