APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: November 24-30, 2025, Talk: What is Sin? Lesson 20, Prepared Assignment.

Speech (5 mins.) ijwbq article 96. Title: What is sin? (th lesson 20).

The Bible teaches that human beings are sinners and, therefore, we all sin. But what is sin? From the beginning of creation, humanity has struggled with temptation and disobedience, and sin has been the result.

But what does it really mean to be a sinner? Is it just a label assigned to us, or is it a reality that affects every aspect of our lives?

The Bible gives us a clear and profound answer about the nature of sin and its implications in our lives. Sin is any action, feeling, or thought that goes against God's standards.

Imagine we are archers trying to hit the target. If we miss, it's not because the target is difficult to reach, but because we haven't aimed correctly. In the same way, when we sin, we fall short of meeting God's perfect standards. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory.

This is because Adam and Eve, the first human beings, disobeyed God and passed on sin and imperfection to their descendants.

But what can we do about it? The Bible gives us the answer: we must repent and change our way of thinking. God is always ready to forgive and give us a new opportunity.

In Isaiah 55:7, Jehovah God says: "Let the wicked man forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts; let him return to Jehovah, who will have mercy on him; let him return to our God, for he will freely forgive him."

It's as if Jehovah were saying, "My child, I know you've made wrong choices, but I'm here for you. Leave your mistakes behind and return to me. I'm willing to show you mercy and forgive you generously. I won't judge you for what you've done, but I'll welcome you with open arms and give you a new opportunity."

Isn't that what we all need? A God who loves us unconditionally and is willing to forgive us when we make mistakes. Jehovah offers us that opportunity.

Conclusion

Sin is a serious problem that distances us from our loving Father, Jehovah God, and harms us as individuals. However, thanks to God's mercy and love, we can find forgiveness.

Today we have seen that sin is any action, feeling, or thought that goes against God's standards, that we have all failed, and that we need His forgiveness. But we have also seen that God is willing to forgive us and give us a new opportunity.

So, if we have done anything wrong, it is important to sincerely and repentantly seek His forgiveness. We can be sure that He will forgive us because He loves us like a loving Father. Let us come to Him with confidence and humility and experience His love and mercy.
