Husbands should love their wives as their own bodies (Eph. 5:28).
Jehovah expects a husband to love his wife and care for her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Being thoughtful, respectful of women, and trustworthy will prepare you to be a good husband. If you marry, there's a chance you'll have children. Jehovah's example can teach you what it means to be a good father. (Eph. 6:4) He didn't hesitate to tell his Son, Jesus, that he loved him and approved of him. (Mark 1:11)
If you become a father, it is good to make it a habit to reassure your children that you love them and to praise them when they do well. Parents who follow Jehovah's example help their children grow into mature Christians. How can you prepare yourself now to be a good father? By treating your family and the brothers in the congregation kindly, and by learning to tell them that you love and value them. (John 15:9) This will not only help you if you marry and have children in the future, but it will also make you a great asset to Jehovah, your family, and the congregation from now on.
How can a young man prepare himself to be a good husband and head of family?
You could get married and be a head of your family. As Jesus said, there are mature brothers who choose to remain single (Matt. 19:12). But if you decide to get married, you will assume the responsibility of being a husband and head of your family (1 Cor. 11:3).
Jehovah expects a husband to love his wife and attend to her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. (Eph. 5:28, 29) The qualities and skills we've already discussed in this article—such as thinking, respecting women, and being trustworthy—will prepare you to be a good husband and a good head of family.
What does a young brother have to do to become a mature Christian?
If you're a young brother, remember that you won't automatically become a mature Christian. You need to choose good examples, acquire thinking skills, be reliable, learn practical skills, and prepare for the future.
When you think about all the things you have to do, you may sometimes feel like it's too much for you. But don't be discouraged—you can do it! Remember that Jehovah wants to help you (Isa. 41:10, 13). And the brothers and sisters in your congregation will also be there to lend a hand. When you become the man Jehovah wants you to be, you will have a full and happy life. We love you very much and hope that Jehovah continues to bless your efforts to become a mature Christian. (Prov. 22:4)
