Personal study can give you “the wisdom necessary for salvation” (15 mins.) Discussion with the audience.
Read 1 Peter 2:2. Then ask:
Can you learn to enjoy studying the Bible?
Many find Bible study more enjoyable when they understand that its teachings answer life's important questions and bring peace. As they see how the Bible helps them make better decisions, feel closer to Jehovah, and have hope, they begin to crave this spiritual nourishment. Just as a healthy child craves milk, Christians learn to crave study by experiencing the comfort and direction it offers.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Yes, it is possible. Even if it's difficult or unpleasant at first, with Jehovah's help and a little effort, you can come to enjoy it and even look forward to those moments of study.
As with any habit, the more we practice it, the more we enjoy it. Over time, reading and studying the Bible can become something we look forward to every day. When we see how what we learn helps us in our daily lives, it motivates us to continue studying and enjoy it even more.
What can we do to develop “a strong desire” for God’s Word? (w18:03 29 par. 6)
Another way to cultivate this strong desire is to start with small, realistic goals, such as conducting shorter but consistent Bible studies. As we do this, we will gradually gain more enjoyment from studying and meditating. We will find that we increasingly understand Jehovah's thoughts, which will motivate us to continue learning. Over time, these study times will become pleasurable and necessary for our spiritual well-being, as mentioned in 1 Timothy 4:15.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We can pray to Jehovah to help us develop self-discipline to study, and then act in harmony with that prayer, starting with short studies if necessary. Over time, studying will become easier and more enjoyable, and we will value the moments of meditating on what Jehovah teaches us.
We can set small goals, such as reading a chapter a day or preparing a point for the meeting, and thus gradually strengthen our desire to learn. Meditating on what we read helps us feel that Jehovah is speaking to us personally, which increases our desire to continue studying.
How can we use the digital tools provided by the organization to get more out of Bible study?
Another way to take advantage of digital tools is to use jw.org to research specific topics that interest us or that we need to strengthen. For example, if we're facing an emotional challenge or a spiritual question, we can type keywords into the search engine and find articles, videos, and Bible talks that address that topic. This makes studying more practical and meaningful because it allows us to see how the Bible can directly help us in the most real aspects of our lives.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We can use apps like JW Library to read the Bible in different translations, watch videos, consult publications, and quickly search for information. We can also mark texts, write notes, and prepare materials for meetings or ministry, making our study more organized and beneficial.
We can take advantage of the search functions to find verses or articles that answer our questions or encourage us in difficult times. We can also download videos and publications to review offline, allowing us to study anytime, anywhere.
Play the video Organizational Achievements: Ideas for Making the Most of JW Library. Then ask:
How has using JW Library® benefited you?
What I value most is having all the information at my fingertips at any time. When I'm on the go or taking a break at work, I can read the Bible, listen to a publication, or review my notes. Additionally, the link-sharing feature has been very helpful in teaching others how to find accurate and reliable information without complications.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This app has been an incredible tool for my personal study. Thanks to it, I can always have the Bible and publications in my language at hand, even when I don't have an internet connection.
It's helped me organize my studies: I can highlight passages, add my own notes, and easily find them when I need them. Everything is integrated in one place, which makes studying more practical and enriching.
It helps me make better use of my time. When I'm waiting somewhere, instead of getting distracted by other things, I can read a chapter of the Bible or review a publication.
It's made it easier for me to share texts and videos with others, so I can directly show them something that might encourage them or answer their questions.
What functions do you like to use?
I love using the Bible translation comparison feature. It's very helpful for better understanding the meaning of certain verses, and it also allows me to prepare clear explanations when I'm studying with someone.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Compare different Bible translations. I love being able to read a verse in multiple versions to better understand it.
Highlighting texts, writing notes, and tagging them helps me remember important ideas and easily return to them.
Download and play audio or video clips, such as speeches, music, or educational videos, without needing an internet connection.
Use daily scriptures. Starting the day with a verse and a brief reflection motivates me and helps me focus spiritually early on.
I really like the search feature because I can quickly find any verse or topic I need.
I enjoy using the option to view the notes and bookmarks I've saved, because it's like having a small personal archive of spiritual ideas and reminders.
What features would you like to learn to use?
I'd like to learn how to use the link sharing feature directly from the app. I've seen other siblings send posts or videos very easily, and it would be very helpful for helping my students and sharing content with my friends.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Personalized playlists. I know I can create collections with audio, videos, and even images for quick access while studying or preparing for meetings. I'd like to learn how to use this better to organize materials by topic or project.
Meetings section. I'm interested in taking advantage of the tab that groups meeting resources, such as the Watchtower Study tab or the Life & Ministry tab. Since I saw it recently redesigned to display all the important links on a single page, I'd like to explore it further and take full advantage of it.
I'd like to learn how to sync my notes and bookmarks between devices so I can keep everything up to date on both my phone and tablet.
I'm interested in learning how to better utilize reference tools, such as maps and footnotes, to better understand the context of verses.
