Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2025

Thursday, July 3, 2025

Let us be attentive to one another, let us encourage one another (Heb. 10:24, 25).

When commenting in meetings, there are some potential pitfalls: we may become so nervous that we don't dare to comment, or we may raise our hands many times but not receive all the feedback we'd like. The apostle Paul wrote an idea that can help us. He highlighted what we should focus on: "Let us encourage one another." If we keep in mind that we can encourage others even with a simple comment that expresses our faith, we will feel less nervous about raising our hands. And, if we can't comment as much as we'd like, we will be happy to see that others have the opportunity to do so.

Why do we comment in meetings?

The main reason is that we want to praise Jehovah (Ps. 26:12; 111:1). In the meetings, we also encourage one another in these difficult times (1 Thess. 5:11). Well, when we discuss, we accomplish both of these goals.

What opportunities do we have to comment at meetings?

Every week we have many opportunities to comment at meetings. For example, on the weekend we can participate in the Watchtower Study. And during the midweek meeting, we can raise our hands during the "Search for Hidden Gems" section, the "Congregation Bible Study," and at other times when our participation is requested.

What potential obstacles do we face when commenting? b) How does Hebrews 10:24, 25 help us?

We all want to praise Jehovah and encourage our fellow believers with our comments. But there are some potential pitfalls: we may become so nervous that we don't dare to comment, or we may raise our hands many times but not receive all the comments we would like. In the apostle Paul's letter to the Hebrews, we find an idea that can help us. When speaking about the importance of the meetings, Paul emphasized what we should focus on: “Let us encourage one another” (read Hebrews 10:24, 25). If we keep in mind that we can encourage others even with a simple comment that expresses our faith, we will feel less nervous about raising our hands. And if we are unable to comment as often as we would like, we will be happy to see that others have the opportunity to do so. (1 Pet. 3:8)
