APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, July 21-27, 2025, Make Return Visits: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making Disciples: A Work of Love, Lesson 9, point 5). Prepared Assignment.
Make return visits (5 mins.) from house to house. Show what our Bible classes are like (LMD lesson 9 point 5).
Setting: The publisher makes a return visit to a woman with whom he had previously spoken about the possibility of studying the Bible. During the visit, he explains how Bible courses work and presents the book "Enjoy Life Forever!", highlighting how it addresses several important topics. The woman shows interest and decides to begin a Bible study.
Publisher: Good morning, Mrs. [name].
Assistant: Good morning, [name]! Nice to see you. Come in, please.
Publisher: Thank you very much. How have you been, ma'am?
Assistant: Very well, thank you. Please sit down. I'm so glad you came.
Publisher: Well, here I am, just as we agreed, to explain to you more about the Bible courses we teach.
Assistant: Oh yes, I have several questions about the Bible, and you told me that a Bible study would help me.
Publisher: That's right, Mrs. [name]. A Bible course would be best for you. The course examines what the Bible says about various topics. For example, the Bible tells us who God is, what He is like, what His name is, where He is, and whether we can be His friends. Students are taught where in the Bible they will find the answers to these and other questions.
Assistant: I'd really like that, to learn everything about the Creator. But tell me, what's the Bible course like?
Publisher: I'm so glad you're so interested in God! Look, the course is simple but very educational. We're using a book I brought with me. (He shows her the book.) It's called "Enjoy Life Forever!" We read a paragraph and then discuss it.
Assistant: How interesting!
Publisher: Look at the topics he brings up.
Assistant: How interesting! There are many topics I'd really like to read about.
Publisher: Excellent! Choose a topic to discuss for a moment.
Assistant: I'm intrigued by this one titled "Christians and Alcoholic Beverages." I'd like to know if God approves of alcoholic beverages.
Publisher: Excellent choice! (Opens the book to that topic) Madam [name], would you please read the first paragraph?
Assistant: Of course. (Pause, simulating reading)
Publisher: Okay. Let's answer the question in this paragraph. Based on what you've read, is it wrong to drink alcohol, ma'am?
Assistant: From what I've read, the Bible doesn't say that drinking alcohol is bad. On the contrary, God's Word includes "wine" among the many gifts Jehovah has given us. Is this true? Does the Bible say that?
Publisher: That's right. The paragraph is based on Psalm 104:14, 15. Let me read it for you. It says: "He makes grass grow for the cattle and plants for food, so that the earth produces food: wine to gladden the human heart, oil to make the face shine, and bread to refresh the human heart."
Assistant: That's true! There in the Bible, wine is mentioned among the things God gives us. If God gives it to us, it's because it's not evil in His sight.
Publisher: Excellent! I congratulate you on your quick understanding of the topic. But we must keep in mind that the Bible gives some important advice for those who choose to drink alcohol.
Assistant: And that's what the second paragraph is talking about, right?
Publisher: Exactly! Look, Mrs. [name], it's that simple to study the Bible. It's all about questions, answers, and what the Bible says.
Assistant: I like it a lot. It's easy to understand. You know what? Yes, I'll study the Bible with you.
Publisher: I congratulate you on your decision.
Assistant: Well, we can continue studying this topic. It looks very interesting.
Publisher: Of course. Let's continue then.
