APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, July 28-August 3, 2025, Start Conversations: INFORMAL PREACHING. (Making Disciples: A Work of Love, Lesson 2, point 4). Prepared Assignment.

Start Conversations (2 mins.) INFORMAL PREACHING. The conversation ends before you can talk about the Bible (lmd lesson 2 point 4).

Setting: While walking, a publisher helps a woman who accidentally drops an object. This gesture begins a conversation about dishonesty in society. The woman shares a painful experience of betrayal by a friend, and the publisher responds empathetically, emphasizing that there are still people with good values. The conversation is interrupted by the arrival of the woman's taxi, who invites the publisher to continue the conversation another time.

Publisher: (Picks up the object.) Excuse me, ma'am, I think you dropped this.

Assistant: Oh yeah! I didn't even notice. Thank you so much, really.

Publisher: Gladly. I'm glad I saw you in time.

Assistant: It's rare to find honest people these days. Most people only think about themselves. They don't care if they hurt others.

Publisher: Yes, it's true that the situation is difficult. There's a lot of mistrust due to the behavior of some people.

Assistant: Look, not long ago I lost my phone… and you know what the worst part was? I found out it was a friend who stole it from me. Since then, I've been very private with my friends.

Publisher: I'm so sorry this happened to you. But you know, there are still people who sincerely strive to be honest and maintain good moral principles. That gives us a little hope.

Assistant: Yes? And you know them? Those are the friendships worth having. (At that moment, a taxi pulls up, and she turns around hurriedly.)

Oh! There's my taxi. Excuse me, I have to go, but look, I work across the street, in that little store. My name is [name]. Come by another day. We'll have a coffee and continue talking.

Publisher: Nice to meet you, Clara. I'm [name]. Of course I'll be back to chat.

Assistant: (Getting into the taxi.) Perfect. See you soon!
