Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2025

God is the one who fills them with energy, giving them both the desire and the strength to act (Phil. 2:13).

To achieve spiritual goals, it's very important that we be motivated. Why? Because if we are determined to accomplish what we have set out to do, we will give our best. The more motivated we are, the more likely we are to achieve our goals. So, what will help you be more motivated? Ask Jehovah to help you be more motivated. Through his spirit, Jehovah can give you the motivation you need to achieve your goal.

Sometimes we set a goal because we know it’s our duty, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But deep down, we may not have the desire to do it. Meditate on what Jehovah has done for you. (Ps. 143:5) The apostle Paul meditated on Jehovah’s undeserved kindness to him, and it moved him to serve him wholeheartedly. (1 Cor. 15:9, 10; 1 Tim. 1:12-14) Similarly, the more you reflect on what Jehovah has done for you, the more motivated you will be to reach your goal. (Ps. 116:12) w23.05 26, 27 pars. 3-5.

Why is it important to be motivated?

Motivation is like the wind that pushes a sailboat. If the wind keeps blowing, the sailboat is likely to reach its destination. And if it blows strongly, it may even arrive sooner than expected. Similarly, the more motivated we are, the more likely we are to achieve our goals. A brother from El Salvador named David says, “When you feel motivated, you push harder. You do everything possible so that nothing can stop you from achieving your goal.” So, what will help you be more motivated?

What can we ask of Jehovah? (Philippians 2:13)

Ask Jehovah to help you be more motivated. Through his spirit, Jehovah can give you the motivation you need to achieve your goal. (Read Philippians 2:13.) Sometimes we set a goal because we know it's our duty, and there's nothing wrong with that. But deep down, we may not have the desire to do it.

That's what happened to Norina, a sister in Uganda. She had set her sights on leading a Bible study, but she wasn't motivated enough because she felt she wasn't a good teacher. What helped her? She says: “I began to ask Jehovah every day to help me be more eager to teach someone the Bible. And I also did my part by striving to be a better teacher. After a few months, I noticed I was more motivated. That same year, I started two Bible studies.”

What can we meditate on to be more motivated?

Meditate on what Jehovah has done for you. (Ps. 143:5) The apostle Paul meditated on Jehovah’s undeserved kindness to him, and it moved him to serve him wholeheartedly. (1 Cor. 15:9, 10; 1 Tim. 1:12-14) Similarly, the more you reflect on what Jehovah has done for you, the more motivated you will be to reach your goal. (Ps. 116:12) Consider what helped a sister in Honduras become a regular pioneer. She says: “I thought about how much Jehovah loves me. He brought me to his people, and he cares for me and protects me. As I meditated on these things, I came to love Jehovah more, and my desire to pioneer grew stronger.”
