Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2025

When my worries overwhelmed me, you comforted me and gave me comfort (Ps. 94:19).

Jehovah comforts and reassures us. That's why it's important to make it a habit to spend time with Him, praying to Him and reading His Word. (Ps. 77:1, 12-14) Then, when we're in a tense situation, our first thought is likely to be to turn to our heavenly Father. Let's tell Jehovah about our worries and fears, and let Him answer and comfort us with the Scriptures. (Ps. 119:28)

What can scare us?

There may be times when we feel very afraid. The Bible tells of faithful servants of God who admitted they were trembling with fear because of their enemies or other serious problems. (Ps. 18:4; 55:1, 5) What about us? Are we experiencing opposition from schoolmates, coworkers, family members, or government officials? Are we facing the possibility of death from a serious illness? At times like these, we may feel as helpless as a small child. What does Jehovah do to help us?

According to Psalm 94:19, What does Jehovah promise to do?

What Jehovah does. He comforts and reassures us. (Read Psalm 94:19.) Consider a little girl who is scared and unable to sleep because of a thunder and lightning storm. Then her father comes, puts his arms around her, and soothes her until she falls asleep. The storm is still raging, but she feels safe in her father's arms. Similarly, when we are trembling with fear, we may need, so to speak, our heavenly Father to put his arms around us until we feel better. What do we need to do to receive Jehovah's comfort?

If we want Jehovah to comfort us, what should we do?

What we need to do. It is important to make it a habit to spend time with Jehovah in prayer and reading his Word. (Ps. 77:1, 12-14) So when we are in a tense situation, our first thought is likely to be to turn to our heavenly Father. Let us tell Jehovah what worries and frightens us, and let him answer and comfort us with the Scriptures. (Ps. 119:28) Some parts of the Bible can be especially encouraging in such times, such as the books of Job, Psalms, and Proverbs, and Jesus' words in Matthew chapter 6. If you pray to Jehovah and read his Word, you will see how he comforts you.
