Watchtower Study, "Article 5", March 31-April 6, 2025, How Jehovah's Love Benefits Us, Answers.

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 TIM. 1:15).

1. How can we make Jehovah happy?

Jehovah has given us the best gift he could give us: the rescue of Jesus. This supreme act of love allows us to have a relationship with God and the hope of eternal life. We can make Jehovah happy by valuing and thanking the sacrifice of his Son.

It is not enough to recognize this gift, but we must demonstrate our appreciation with our actions. Romans 5:7-8 highlights that even though we were sinners, God showed us love by sending Jesus to save us. This motivates us to live in harmony with His rules and to cultivate a close friendship with Him, obeying His commandments.

2. What will we see in this article?

In this article we will see how the rescue that Jehovah has given us through Jesus benefits us both in the present and in the future. But over time, we might become accustomed to this wonderful gift and lose the gratitude we felt at the beginning. The article will also encourage us to show Jehovah that we truly appreciate this gift. A key time to do this is during the commemoration of Jesus' death, as this annual event is not just a reminder. It is an opportunity to reflect on Jehovah's love and reaffirm our loyalty to Him.

HOW WE BENEFIT NOW

3. What is one way we now benefit from the bailout?

One of the ways we now benefit from the ransom is that Jehovah forgives our sins. He does not do it out of obligation, but because he wants to forgive us. Psalm 103:3, 10-13 reminds us that Jehovah forgives all our mistakes and does not treat us according to our sins.

Thanks to Jesus' rescue, we do not have to live with the eternal guilt of our mistakes. If we sincerely repent and make the necessary changes, Jehovah shows us his mercy and cleanses us from our faults. This gives us peace of mind and allows us to maintain a close relationship with Him.

4. For whom did Jehovah give the ransom? (Luke 5:32; 1 Timothy 1:15).

The rescue is a clear example that Jehovah does not love us because we are perfect, but because we are his children. He understands our weaknesses and is willing to forgive those who sincerely seek His mercy.

The apostle Paul understood this well. In 1 Timothy 1:15, he wrote: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of all of them, I am the worst." Despite his past persecuting Christians, Paul became a faithful servant of God. This shows us that no one is too far from Jehovah's love and forgiveness if he repents from the heart.

Therefore, if we ever feel that we do not deserve God's forgiveness, we must remember that no one really deserves it, but Jehovah gives it to us out of his undeserved kindness. He does not seek perfection, but humble hearts that desire to improve and do his will.

5. Why can no one claim to deserve Jehovah's mercy?

The ransom is a gift based on Jehovah's undeserved kindness. Although he values our loyalty and obedience, we should never think that he has granted us his mercy because we deserve it. Christ's ransom was not payment for services rendered, but rather an expression of God's love for humanity.

Galatians 2:21 says, "If righteousness came through the Law, then Christ died for nothing." This shows that no human action, no matter how good, can replace the sacrifice of Jesus.

If we believed that we had earned God's mercy through our own merits, we would be minimizing the value of the ransom. Therefore, we must maintain a humble attitude, recognizing that what we receive from Jehovah is because of his love and not because we deserve it.

6. Why did Paul strive in his service to Jehovah?

Paul's example teaches us that gratitude should be the driving force of our service to Jehovah. Although Paul was a persecutor of Christians, he received God's forgiveness and valued it deeply. This prompted him to dedicate his life to preaching with zeal and total dedication.

Likewise, we today serve Jehovah enthusiastically, not because we want to earn his mercy, but because we are grateful for it. When we understand the enormous love that God has shown us by giving us the ransom, we are motivated to respond with devotion.

7. What is another way we now benefit from the bailout? (Romans 5:1; James 2:23).

Jehovah has given us the valuable gift of ransom so that we can approach Him without barriers. Having peace with God means that our relationship with Him is not based on fear or guilt, but on trust and love. This is something we could not achieve on our own merits, but is made possible by your love.

James 2:23 mentions that Abraham became a friend of Jehovah because of his faith. Likewise, thanks to Christ's sacrifice, we too can strengthen our friendship with God. This means that He not only considers us His servants, but He allows us to approach Him with confidence, speak to Him in prayer, and feel His support in our daily lives.

8. Why should we be grateful to Jehovah for the privilege of prayer?

Jehovah is not a distant God, but a loving father who invites us to speak to him through prayer. 1 John 5:14 assures us that He hears our prayers when they are made in faith. This gives us confidence to turn to Him at any time, whether to ask for help, thank Him or simply express our feelings.

Jesus left us a good example by praying frequently, demonstrating that prayer not only brings inner peace, but also strengthens our relationship with God. By praying regularly, we show that we trust in Jehovah and value his love.

HOW WE CAN BENEFIT IN THE FUTURE

9. How will Jehovah’s faithful servants benefit from the ransom in the future?

Eternal life is a promise that will be fulfilled for those who faithfully serve Jehovah. Although it seems incredible because death is widespread, Jehovah from the beginning intended for human beings to live forever, but Adam's sin brought death.

However, through the sacrifice of Jesus, Jehovah opened the way so that those who serve him faithfully can enjoy not only living forever, but also living in a world without suffering and death.

In the kingdom of God, faithful servants will enjoy eternal peace and happiness. Jehovah is willing to return that blessing to us and he demonstrated it by giving his Son for our salvation.

10. What are the anointed and the other sheep looking forward to?

Although eternal life is beyond what we can experience now, Jehovah encourages us to think of it with hope and joy.

The anointed, those who have been called to reign with Christ in heaven, look forward to that special position. On the other hand, the other sheep, who are part of Jehovah's great people, long for life in a restored world, where Jehovah will eliminate all forms of suffering, illness, and death.

The hope of living forever on earth is no small prize, but reflects Jehovah's original purpose in creating human beings, who were designed to inhabit the earth forever. This assures us that eternal life on earth will be completely satisfactory and full of happiness.

11, 12. What are some of the blessings of Paradise that we long for? (See also images).

In paradise, the blessings will be innumerable. Life in paradise will be a completely transformative experience. In addition to perfect health, the opportunity to learn and develop will be one of the greatest gifts that Jehovah will give us.

From the possibility of acquiring new knowledge in areas of personal interest to the commitment to serve in necessary professions. We will all have the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the world and enjoy a fulfilling life.

Most significant is the restoration of the close bond with Jehovah, where sin will no longer be an obstacle. We will be able to worship Him with joy and purity, without the burden of guilt. In this context, the blessings of paradise surpass any momentary pleasure that today's world can offer.

As we see in Acts 11:25, it is better to sacrifice temporary pleasures of sin now in order to enjoy these future blessings.

LET'S SHOW JEHOVAH THAT WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR HIS LOVE

13. How can we show that we are grateful for Jehovah's love? (2 Corinthians 6:1).

Gratitude to Jehovah for the rescue must be more than a feeling; It must be visible in our actions. According to 2 Corinthians 5:15, we are to live for him who died and rose again for us. This means that our decisions, activities, and priorities must reflect our devotion to Jehovah.

Furthermore, 2 Corinthians 6:1 emphasizes that we must not waste the opportunity we have to serve Him, but rather take full advantage of it, allowing nothing to divert us from this goal. This approach not only honors Jehovah, but also brings us true satisfaction, since living according to his will is the best way to demonstrate our gratitude.

14. How can we show that we have faith in Jehovah's instructions?

Faith in Jehovah's instructions is demonstrated in the decisions we make in our daily lives. It's not just about believing what he says, but acting on it. 1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds us that everything we do should be for the glory of God.

When making decisions, such as what job to take or how much time to spend studying, it is vital that we consider how they align with the principles Jehovah has given us. Our faith is demonstrated through our works, as shown in James 2:21, 22.

This type of faith not only strengthens our relationship with God, but also strengthens our hope, as mentioned in Romans 5:3-5. When we trust in Jehovah's instructions and see his benefits in our lives, our faith becomes stronger, allowing us to more confidently face the trials and challenges that arise.

15. How can we show gratitude during the Memorial season?

The memorial is a special occasion when we can show our gratitude for Jehovah’s rescue in various ways.

In addition to making plans to attend, an effective way to use this time is to invite others to join us, explain the purpose of the meeting, and share the resources available on jw.org.

During the meeting, we can follow the counsel we find in Romans 12:13 to make everyone feel welcome, especially those who are new or who have not attended in a while.

1 Timothy 2:4 reminds us that Jehovah desires that everyone come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved. And an excellent opportunity to fulfill this wish is during the commemoration.

16. Why should we consider increasing our service during the Memorial season?

The memorial season is an excellent opportunity to show our gratitude to Jehovah for all he has done for us, especially for the sacrifice of his Son Jesus.

Increasing our preaching during this time allows us to express that gratitude in a practical way. As we preach more, we see Jehovah's support, and in turn, our trust in Him grows.

1 Corinthians 3:9 teaches us that we are God's co-workers in the work of preaching, which means that serving Jehovah is a privilege and a direct way to show our appreciation for what he has done for us.

Additionally, we can enrich our preparation for the memorial by reading related scriptures, such as those in the booklet “Examining the Scriptures Every Day.”

17. What makes Jehovah happy with us? (See also the box “Ways to Be Thankful for Jehovah's Love.”)

Jehovah is happy with us when we see the ransom as a valuable gift, and through our attitude, we express our gratitude for it.

What really matters to Jehovah is not that we compare our lives with those of others, but that we strive to put the spiritual first and do the best we can with what we have.

The story of the widow who gave two small coins in Mark 12:41-44 illustrates how Jehovah values the heart behind our actions. Although our circumstances may limit some activities, Jehovah measures the value of our actions not by quantity, but by the sincerity of our hearts.

18. Why are we very grateful to Jehovah and Jesus?

The reason why we are deeply grateful to Jehovah and Jesus is because thanks to the rescue, we can receive forgiveness of our sins, which allows us to draw closer to Jehovah and thus enjoy a close relationship with Him.

This act of mercy, fueled by Jehovah's love, allows us not only to be friends of God, but also to have hope for eternal life, something that would not be possible without the rescue.

At 1 John 4:19 we are reminded that our response to this love must be a sincere love toward Jehovah, who gave us all these blessings.
