APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: November 25-December 1, 2024, Make Disciples (Making Disciples: A Labor of Love, Lesson 11 point 3). Prepared Assignment.
Make Disciples (5 mins.) lff lesson 15 point 6 and “What Some Say” (lmd lesson 11 point 3).
Teacher: Today I would like to talk about something fundamental: knowing Jesus. The Bible shows that this is not only important, but essential. Would you like to read some texts that explain this?
Student: Sure, go ahead.
Teacher: First, let's read John 14:6, where Jesus said… What do you understand by these words?
Student: Well, it seems that Jesus is essential to getting closer to God.
Teacher: Exactly. Now, let’s look at John 17:3, where Jesus explained: … According to this text, what benefit is there in learning about Jesus?
Student: Eternal life.
Teacher: What is the answer to the question Why is it essential that we know Jesus?
Student: Because Jesus opened the way for us to be friends of God and learn the truth about Jehovah.
Teacher: Imagine that you want to go to a distant place, it would be easier to cross forests and lakes or use a road that was already built for that purpose.
Student: I guess I would choose the path.
Teacher: And we would avoid getting lost in a forest that we don't know. Many, for example, have done that; they have not taken the example that Jesus left to reach God and have decided to search for them in their own way. Do you think they can be sure that it is the best way to worship Jehovah?
Student: I guess not because it would have wrong teachings since they don't know how to do it.
Teacher: A very good comparison. For example, Jesus not only taught with words, but also with his example. He showed how to reflect Jehovah's love, mercy, and justice in everything he did. Moving on to the next point, you have heard that some say that Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in Jesus Christ. Is that true?
Student: Yes, I have heard it.
Teacher: What could we answer?
Student: We firmly believe in Jesus Christ. Without Him, we would not have a relationship with God or the hope of eternal life. As we saw in John 14:6, Jesus is the way to approach Jehovah.
Teacher: So why do people say that?
Student: Many say that we only talk about Jehovah, but the truth is that we recognize the unique importance of Jesus. Without his sacrifice and teaching, we would not be able to know God or enjoy His promises.
Teacher: So to summarize, knowing Jesus helps us better understand Jehovah and strengthen our faith.
