Ps 91:11. What balanced view should we have about the help that angels give us? (wp17.5 5).
Psalm 91:11 says that the angels will be with their servants to protect them, but we must understand that this protection does not guarantee a life without adversity. A balanced viewpoint involves recognizing that the angels act according to God's will, taking care primarily of our spiritual health. While they may intervene at times to protect us physically, their main task is to help us strengthen our faith and follow the path of truth. So we trust them without expecting them to prevent us from all suffering, but rather to help us persevere in faith.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This text teaches us that Jehovah charges the angels with protecting his servants, but we must be realistic about the way they do it. The angels are not at our disposal to fulfill every wish or deliver us from every difficulty. Their main mission is to help us fulfill Jehovah's will and to provide us with spiritual support in critical moments. Therefore, although the angels can intervene to protect us, we understand that their help is always directed by God's purposes, and not necessarily to prevent all physical problems.
We should keep in mind that although the Bible does not say that we have a personal guardian angel, angels are interested in helping Christians and can protect or guide us when necessary. However, we should not think that we are always protected no matter what happens. Angels are invisible, so we cannot always know when they are helping us. Still, it is okay to thank Jehovah for any help we feel we have received, as all good help comes from him.
Although angels may be sent by Jehovah to help us, our primary trust must always be in Jehovah. We must not think that angels will be there to save us from any situation. It is important that we make wise and prudent decisions in our lives, trusting that Jehovah will take care of us according to his will, but also acting responsibly.
When we feel that we have received help in a difficult time, it is good to remember that all good help comes from Jehovah, although he may use the angels to support us. Therefore, instead of focusing on the direct intervention of the angels, we should be grateful to Jehovah and show our gratitude through prayer and faithful service.
We should not abuse this help or put them to the test, a biblical example is when the adversary tempted our Lord Jesus Christ and told him if you are the son of God throw yourself from on high and if you are the son of God his angels will come to help you, because it is written that they will not allow you to land with your feet from on high, what did Jesus say, Ah wait a moment, I will show you that I am the son of God, Jesus did not fall into that type of game or prove that yes or prove that no, he did not fall into that game.
So true Christians do not expose themselves to risks thinking that the Angels will protect them no matter what happens. It is not saying that we do not take risks. Of course we do, but we avoid putting ourselves in unnecessary risks as if testing God.
Angels are invisible, we cannot see them or know to what extent God uses them, but there is nothing wrong with thanking the Almighty for the help we receive from him.
What spiritual pearls have you found in this week's Bible reading?
Psalm 90:1. Throughout the generations, God’s people have faced many difficulties, but Jehovah has always been a source of protection. This lesson reminds us that no matter what trials or challenges we face, God remains our dwelling place, a place where we can turn for direction, strength, and peace in times of trouble .
Psalm 90:1. Which tells us: O Lord, You have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. This verse makes us think of many generations before us, past generations, but also future generations. And of course our present generation praised, praises and will praise the Most High. So it is certainly a privilege to be here worshiping and serving the true God.
Psalm 90:3 You turn mortal man back to dust. This applies to everyone, strong, weak, powerful, rich, poor. No imperfect human being can in any way save even a brother, nor give God a ransom for him to live forever. However, we are very grateful that God sent his only begotten Son as a ransom so that everyone who exercises faith in him may have eternal life.
Psalm 90:2 teaches us that Jehovah has existed before anything in creation, and he will continue to exist forever. He has no beginning and no end, which gives us the assurance that he will always be there to take care of us, no matter what changes we face.
Psalm 90:1. The word “our dwelling place” teaches us that Jehovah has been a safe refuge for his servants throughout the ages. And the word “throughout all generations” recognizes that from ancient times to the present, Jehovah has been a place of spiritual protection and security. No matter the passage of time or the circumstances, he is always present as a refuge for his people.
Psalm 90:4 teaches us that the creator is not within the limits of our solar system; he is not conditioned to our cycles of translation and rotation of the planet Earth; he is not governed by our 24-hour time; his situation cannot be compared to that of man; it is like saying that the creator of the iPhone lives inside the iPhone; such an idea is completely inconceivable.
Psalm 90:2. This text emphasizes that Jehovah is God from time indefinite to time indefinite. This means that his power and authority are absolute and eternal. No one can take away his sovereignty, and he will always carry out his will. We can be confident that no matter what happens in our lives or in the world, Jehovah is always in control and his purpose will be fulfilled.
Psalm 90:8 tells us that you set our errors before you. This teaches us that Jehovah is aware of all the secrets, all the things that people do. There are many powerful people who have top secret information, even people who, so to speak, claim to be servants or representatives of God on earth, but Jehovah is aware of all those secrets and the Bible says that there is nothing carefully hidden that will not be revealed in due time.
Psalm 90:8 reminds us that we practice sin in secret, that we lead a double life, but it could be possible that we could manage to hide what we do from others, perhaps for a while, but that hidden fault would immediately be manifest before Jehovah, this would damage our relationship with him, so we have two options: we fix things or we leave them like that, attentive to the consequences. So in order to recover our friendship with him we could ask for forgiveness, abandon sin, accept the help that the congregation gives us.
Psalm 90:10. The same text teaches us that our existence is short and even uncertain. Sometimes we hear the expression, someone died before their time or it was their time. Therefore, if today were our last day, let us ask God for wisdom to face trials, treat others properly, especially our loved ones, so if today were our last day we will not regret not having treated them well and give our best in our service to God. It is today, not tomorrow, nor yesterday, because tomorrow never comes, it is today.
Psalm 90:1. The expression, Jehovah has been our dwelling place, means that he is the one who should occupy the central place in our lives. This lesson teaches us to cultivate an intimate and close relationship with Jehovah. So that we can always feel confident that if we turn to him, we should make our relationship with Jehovah the priority, because in him we find true refuge and meaning for our lives.
Psalm 90:8 This verse reminds us that we all make mistakes. It is important to acknowledge our faults and not ignore them. This acknowledgement is the first step towards humility and the part that says that God lays our mistakes before him indicates that we cannot hide anything from his gaze. This teaches us to live with integrity, knowing that our actions and thoughts are visible to him. It encourages us to be sincere in our relationship with him.
Psalm 90:1. Another lesson we can learn from this same text is that the psalmist points out that Jehovah has been the dwelling place for all generations, which implies that trust in God and his protection has been a constant for the faithful throughout history. This trust in Jehovah is inherited from generation to generation, strengthening faith and reminding us of the importance of transmitting this same faith to our children and descendants.
Psalm 90:8. Another lesson we can find in this same verse is that it teaches us that Jehovah sees and knows all the actions, thoughts and motivations of people, both public and secret. There is nothing we can hide from him. This can generate in us a sense of humility and responsibility, knowing that everything we do is in Jehovah's sight.
Psalm 90:2. The verse mentions that before the mountains were born and the earth was formed, Jehovah already existed. This highlights that he is the creator of the universe and everything in it; nothing in creation is superior to God, for this and other reasons he deserves all our worship. By recognizing Jehovah as our creator, we realize that our life has a purpose and that we must praise and obey him for being the one who gave us life.
Psalm 90:1. The term “dwelling place” implies that they are not a temporary refuge, but a permanent home. This idea teaches us that Jehovah not only protects us in times of need, but is our spiritual home, the place where we find peace, comfort, and stability. In a world full of uncertainties, God is our eternal dwelling place, where we can always turn for support.
Psalm 90:2. The text also reminds us that Jehovah is not limited by time or by the physical restrictions that affect us, he lives outside of human limitations, which means that he sees and understands everything from a perfect and complete perspective, we can trust in Jehovah's plans knowing that his understanding and vision of time and events is much broader than ours, although sometimes we do not understand what is happening, we know that his purpose is always good and just.
Psalm 90:8. The idea that our mistakes are before Jehovah confirms that there is a Divine justice. This reminds us that although we may sometimes evade responsibility before men, there is nothing hidden before Jehovah.
Psalm 90:8. By saying, You lay our sins before You, it is mentioned that God takes into account our sins and mistakes. This shows that each one of us must be held accountable for his actions. This also implies that even if we try to hide our faults from others, we cannot do so from God, who judges us with justice and righteousness.
Psalm 90:10. This verse reminds us of the brevity of human life, just 70 or 80 years, and often full of difficulties. It invites us to reflect on the fragility of our life compared to Jehovah's eternity. This motivates us to value the time we have and to focus on what really matters: our relationship with Jehovah and how we make the most of our days.
Psalm 90:8. The expression of the light of your face, this may refer to the illumination that comes from Divine truth and the justice of God, it is His purity that reveals hidden errors. This reminds us that Jehovah is just and that His light is both revealing and purifying by exposing our secrets, Jehovah also gives us the opportunity to correct ourselves and walk in the truth.
Psalm 90:10. From this text we can learn that although life in this world is short and full of challenges, we have the hope of eternal life under the Kingdom of God where there will be no more suffering.

Psalm 91:4. This verse assures us that Jehovah protects us as a father cares for his children. Even though we sometimes feel vulnerable, we can find comfort under his protection.
Psalm 91:2. The psalmist declares with conviction that Jehovah is a refuge and fortress, in whom he fully trusts. This reminds us that rather than relying only on our own abilities or resources, we should remember that Jehovah is our source of security. He is our strength in times of trial and distress.
Psalm 91:4. The image of being covered with Jehovah's feathers evokes a feeling of tender and constant protection. Just as a bird protects its young under its wings, this text teaches us that Jehovah offers security to those who trust in him.
Psalm 91:9,10. This verse speaks of the protection that Jehovah offers to those who trust fully in him. Even though we live in a world full of problems and calamities, this verse assures us that by trusting in Jehovah, we can feel safe under his care. We know that he will always be with us, even in the most difficult trials.
Psalm 91:9. This text teaches us that making the Most High a place of residence implies developing an intimate and constant relationship with Jehovah. This does not only refer to turning to him in times of crisis, but to maintaining daily communication through prayer and Bible study.
Psalm 90:12. In this scripture we are asked to pray to Jehovah to teach us to number our days aright and to live wisely. It is not just a question of how long we live, but how we live it, making sure our decisions reflect wisdom and a spiritual focus. This is a call to be aware of our priorities and make adjustments if necessary.
Psalm 91:14. Jehovah promises to deliver and protect those who love him and know his name. This reminds us of the importance of developing a close, personal relationship with Jehovah—not just knowing his name, but what he stands for. By having this intimate relationship with him, we can trust that he will always take care of us.
Psalm 91:15. It says: And I will answer him. This reminds us that Jehovah not only hears our prayers, but he is also willing to answer. This strengthens our faith and confidence that God cares about us and that we can go to him knowing that he is attentive to our concerns and he is eager to help us.
Psalm 91:1-16. Psalm 91 is very famous and it is good to read it at all times, as it reminds us that Jehovah is with us and no matter what happens, he will help us.
Psalm 91:17. It says that the blessing of Jehovah our God be upon us, he will make the work of our hands prosper. This teaches us that it is important to ask Jehovah to make the work of our hands prosper. With that we could say that we bring sustenance to our home and we also help in the congregations and through that secular work we contribute to the worldwide work. So it is important to always ask for Jehovah's blessing in our work and also in preaching.
Psalm 91:1. Speaks of the secret place of the Most High, He is our Refuge. One of the blessings we receive when we dedicate ourselves and are baptized is to live in the secret place of the Most High, it is a symbolic refuge that protects us from spiritual dangers. It is said to be secret, because those who lack faith in God cannot discover it, this motivates us to remain faithful and loyal to God.
Psalm 91:7 tells us: They will fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but none of them will come near you, this makes us think about how important it is to learn to take refuge in Jehovah and depend on him. It is sad, but many fall dead in a spiritual sense at our side, because they have not made Jehovah their refuge.
