APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: July 15-21, 2024, Explain your beliefs: Staging, Lesson 4, point 3. Prepared Assignment.
Explain your beliefs (4 mins.) Role-play. ijwfq 51. Topic: Why do Jehovah's Witnesses continue to go to the homes of people who have already said “I'm not interested”? (lmd lesson 4 point 3).Context: Ana and Carlos are in the car, parked in front of Laura's house, talking about what strategy to use for the visit.
Ana: Well, here we are again, in front of Laura's house. Do you remember our last visit?
Carlos: Yes, I remember it well. Laura told us that she wasn't interested at the time. But she also mentioned that she's been dealing with a lot of stress lately.
Ana: Exactly. And even though she didn't show interest last time, it's always important to revisit. People's circumstances can change, and we never know when someone may be more receptive.
Carlos: I agree. Furthermore, whenever I have to visit a house that we have already preached, I remember the text of Matthew 22:37-39, the love we feel for our neighbors drives us to keep trying. We never know if this visit might be the right time for her.
Ana: That's right. And it is always good to remember that we are not here to force anyone to listen, but to offer comfort and hope. Perhaps we can start by mentioning how many people have found inner peace through reading the Bible, especially in times of stress.
Carlos: Good idea. We can also remind him that our intention is not to be pushy, but to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to hear the good news of the Kingdom.
Ana: Perfect. Or maybe there will not be Laura at the door but another member of her family, perhaps her husband or an adult child with whom we can talk.
Carlos: Well, finding another person would give us the opportunity to preach.
Ana: And if Laura is not interested again, at least we will have shown respect and Christian love. Ready to try it?
