APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: May 20-26, 2024, Make disciples: (Enjoy life forever! lesson 14 point 6). (Let's be better readers and teachers, Lesson 19) Assignment Prepared.
Make Disciples (5 mins.) lff lesson 14 point 6. Discuss an idea from the article “Praise Jehovah in the Congregation,” in the “Discover Something Else” section, with a student who has difficulty commenting in meetings (th lesson 19).
Publisher: In point number 6 we analyzed How we can worship Jehovah. But first, María wanted to talk to you about something important that I have noticed in our meetings. I have seen that you prepare well, I know this because you have marked the responses to many comments, but it seems that it is a bit difficult for you to participate. If you want, we can talk about the reason?
Student: Yes, of course, it is true that it is a bit difficult for me. The thing is that I get very nervous.
Publisher: María, I really appreciate your sincerity. There is an article in our study that may be very useful to us: “Praise Jehovah in the Congregation,” from the “Find Out More” section. It is normal to feel this way, many of us have been through the same thing. Even as you see in the article, many brothers feel this way. But there are good reasons to try commenting. Do you remember what point number 6 said about what happens when we comment?
Student: Yes, there it said that it is a way of praising Jehovah.
Publisher: Yes, he has given us that privilege. For example, let's read what Hebrews 13:15 says, please.
Student: Okay, the text says…
Publisher: As we can see, our comments are part of our sacrifice of praise to Jehovah. Which means it's an honor no one else can offer for us. Every time you comment, you are offering a valuable sacrifice to God. Student: That sounds very nice, but, sister, I feel that my comments are not as good as others.
Publisher: I understand how you feel, but Jehovah does not expect us all to make the same type of comments. For example, in the past, when it was time to praise Jehovah by bringing sacrifices, do you think everyone brought a sacrifice equal to another Israelite?
Student: I guess not.
Publisher: How good do you think if we read what it says in Leviticus 5:7 and then 11.
Student: Okay, the text says………
Publisher: As we can see María. God accepted different types of sacrifices from the Israelites according to their abilities. The important thing is that we offer the best we can, not that our comments are perfect.
Student: In that case it does make a lot of sense. But I'm still afraid of doing it wrong.
Publisher: It is normal to be afraid. Even Nehemiah and Jonah were afraid when they had to speak. But they prayed to Jehovah and trusted in him. We can do the same. Furthermore, our brothers understand and support us. They value our efforts and encourage us.
Student: The truth is that I had never thought about it that way. Maybe I can try to prepare better.
Publisher: Exactly. Preparation is key. Take time to study the material before the meeting and ask Jehovah for his holy spirit to help you. Also try to prepare several short comments. This way you will have more opportunities to participate.
Student: Sounds reasonable. I'll try.
Publisher: Perfect. And remember, even a simple comment can be very valuable and encourage others. We all like to hear the sincere words of our brothers. Jehovah sees our efforts and values them greatly. I'm sure, over time, you'll feel more comfortable commenting.
Student: Thank you for your words and encouragement. I tried to put these tips into practice.
Publisher: You're welcome, María. I am here to help you with whatever you need. I'm sure you'll do very well. And, if you want, we can rehearse together before so that we have more confidence.
Student: I think it's a good idea.
