They did not accept it as the word of men, but as what it truly is, as the word of God (1 Thes. 2:13).

How did the Bible unite God's people in the past?

There is something else that impressively demonstrates that the Bible contains God's wisdom, and that is that it helps his people stay together. When the Israelites entered the Promised Land, they settled in different places. Some became fishermen, others ranchers and others farmers. So the Israelites living in one part of the country could have easily forgotten those living in another. But Jehovah saw to it that everyone met regularly to hear his Word and learn more.​—Deut. 31:10-13; Neh. 8:2, 8, 18. Imagine how a loyal Israelite must feel when he arrived in Jerusalem and encountered perhaps millions of Israelites coming from all over the country to worship Jehovah. In this way, Jehovah helped them stay together. Later, in the first century, the Christian congregation was born. It was made up of men and women who had different social and economic backgrounds, and who spoke different languages. But, since they all loved the Scriptures, they served Jehovah unitedly. In fact, those who joined the Christian congregation were able to understand God's Word because other Christians explained it to them and as they gathered together (Acts 2:42; 8:30, 31).

How does Jehovah use the Bible to unite his people today?

Today, Jehovah continues to use the Bible to teach his people and keep them together. All the spiritual food we receive is based on it. Christians regularly attend meetings and assemblies, where we read the Bible, analyze it, and learn more about it. So it is clear that Jehovah uses the Bible to fulfill his purpose that his servants “serve him shoulder to shoulder” (Zeph. 3:9).

What quality is needed to understand the message of the Bible? (Luke 10:21).

Let us consider another proof of Jehovah's wisdom. He made sure that many parts of the Scriptures were written in such a way that only humble people could understand them (read Luke 10:21). The Bible is a book that is read by people all over the world. A certain specialist said that “it has not only been the most read work, but also the one that has deserved the most attention,” that is, the one that has been studied the most in depth. But only the humble can understand it and put into practice what it says (2 Cor. 3:15, 16).

How else can we see Jehovah's wisdom in the Bible?

10 Let's look at another way in which Jehovah's wisdom is reflected in the Bible. He uses the Scriptures not only to teach us as a group, but to teach and comfort us on an individual level. When we read his Word, we see that Jehovah is very concerned about each one of us (Is. 30:21). When going through a problem, have we read any biblical text that suited us like a glove? Surely, many times. But if the Bible was written for millions of people, how can it contain such up-to-date information that is tailored to each person's needs? This is only possible because the Bible is the work of the wisest author alive (2 Tim. 3:16, 17).
