LIVING AS CHRISTIANS: February 26-March 3, 2024, “Wisdom is better than weapons of war”, Video: Let us follow the example of those who had faith. Let us imitate Enoch, not Lamech, Analysis and Answers.

“Wisdom is better than weapons of war” (10 mins.) Analysis with the audience.

The father of the video “Let us follow the example of those who had faith. Let us imitate Enoch, not Lamech” he meditates on what he is reading in the Bible. He imagines Enoch hiding in a cave and armed men looking for him.

Eccl 4:9, 10. It mentions something very clearly, it says that two are better than one, in what sense? It is that we are not alone, especially when we are in dangerous areas or situations. Although someone might say, well, I am preaching and Jehovah is going to protect me. Of course Jehovah could do it, but he is no longer following this advice. So if one were to come into danger for ignoring this advice, one might have to pay a price. It would then be putting our lives at risk, because we believe that Jehovah is going to protect us, we are preaching he is going to do it, it would be foolish, so let us be careful when we already know that there are dangerous areas, dangerous situations.

Pr 22:3. Here the advice is given that we should always be attentive to what is happening around us. For example, when we are with the strollers, many times we are in areas where something can happen at a moment, and many times perhaps we are distracted, because we are talking a lot, but we have to be attentive, watch our backs, put ourselves in places that are safer and So that way we follow this advice.

Pr 26:17. This text encourages us not to get involved in discussions that have nothing to do with us.

Pr 17:14. Well, if we see a situation that could end in a violent act, get out of there, let's get away from there. And that way of keeping us away could even protect our lives. Nowadays protests are everyday things. Therefore, at any moment a protest could break out, let's get away from there.

Lu 12:15. Well, if a thief attacks us, then we give him what we have, not by saving what we have in our purse, we are going to put our lives at risk. It has even sometimes been recommended that it is always good to carry some money in your purse, because if the aggressor does not ask for it and we have nothing to give, he even gets angry because of it, then the best thing is to give him what we have and our life. it's more important.

Play the VIDEO Let's follow the example of those who had faith. Let us imitate Enoch, not Lamech. Then ask:

What effect did Enoch's example have on this father? (Heb 11:5).

The father in the video wanted to protect his family with weapons, but he followed the example of Enoch who also lived in a violent world, but he walked with Jehovah.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Meditating on this text, thinking about the consequences and imagining what could happen from obtaining a weapon to defend yourself, helped him make a good decision, we can also make a good decision regarding this.

Enoch's example had the effect of strengthening the conviction of the brother who is the Father of a family, and thus strengthening his faith and trust in Jehovah. Reflecting on the experience of Enoch, who lived among violent people but maintained his trust in Jehovah. Thus the brother finds inspiration to continue trusting in divine promises and resist the temptation to resort to violence to protect his family.

It had a great effect, because when he remembered that he did not have to face the violence of the world of his time, since this servant of God lived among very violent people, but he never strayed from the ways of God, so this brother He decides to imitate No's faith and trust that Jehovah would always be there to protect his family from evil, without needing him to have a gun at home.

This teaches us that no matter how difficult the situations are or even if we are at risk, this should not be a reason to fail to comply with Jehovah's standards, but rather, we must always trust in his protection and have faith that he will take care of us.

Due to the increase in violence in the world, a Christian may feel it is necessary to take reasonable measures to defend himself or protect his property. However, if he decides to do so, he must try by all means to ensure that these measures do not end anyone's life. since the true Christian must never make himself guilty of shedding innocent blood.

ANALYSIS OF OTHER ADDITIONAL POINTS OF THE VIDEO.

My son miraculously got rid of the gang members again, we are the only ones who don't have a gun, I don't want to have a gun, but if I don't have one, how am I going to protect my family.

Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1. Faith is the certainty that what is expected will happen. I have faith in the promises of God. But if I need a weapon to protect my family, won't Jehovah understand? No, I couldn't do that, I am not the first servant of God to face violence in this world.

Hebrews 11 5, received the testimony that he had pleased God. Enoch lived among extremely violent people. But he walked with God, I can imitate his faith.
