The Watchtower Study, "Article 46", January 8-14, 2024, Jehovah guarantees us that the Earth will be a paradise, Answers.

“Everyone who wants to obtain a blessing on earth will be blessed by the God of truth” (IS. 65:16).

1. What message did the prophet Isaiah convey to the Israelites?

The message was that what Jehovah predicts has always been fulfilled and he has demonstrated it by fulfilling all his promises.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

The message that Isaiah wanted to convey to the Israelites was very clear: what Jehovah predicts always comes true. Jehovah has demonstrated that this is so, fulfilling all of his promises.

Isaiah calls Jehovah the God of truth, so when he says truth in the note he talks about what amen means and what amen means because it means whether or not, so when the Bible is using these expressions it is confirming that both Jehovah and Jesus they do or say is the truth.

2. Why can we trust in Jehovah's promises for the future? What questions will be answered in this article?

In Hebrews 6:18. About 800 years after the time of the Prophet Isaiah, the apostle Paul explained the reason why we can be convinced of the promises, since in this passage he said that it is impossible for God to lie. For this reason we can be convinced that Jehovah's promises will come true.

And in this article the following questions will be answered: What has Jehovah promised for the future? How have you ensured that his promise will come true?

WHAT HAS JEHOVAH PROMISED?

3. a) What promise occupies a special place in our hearts? (Revelation 21:3, 4).

The promise that holds a special place in our hearts is that “death will be no more, nor will there be any more sadness or crying or pain.”

So here we clearly see that one of the tests that we most trust and desire is for death to disappear and along with it any type of suffering.

3. b) What do some say when we read this promise to them?

Some, when we read this promise to them, say, “That's too good to be true.”

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

In fact, we have all said it, for example, in my youth I remember the book The Blue Bomb, The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life, it said precisely that what the Bible promises us is too beautiful and it was really what attracts us the most, this is knowing that Death, suffering, thank God it was removed.

If it is a text with such a beautiful promise that many people in the territory can sometimes find themselves in the situation of having lost a family member, then how nice it is to encourage them with this text and tell them about the future promise that Jehovah has in the new world. .

4. a) What two things did Jehovah know?

When Jehovah inspired the apostle John to write this magnificent promise about paradise, he knew very well that in our times we would use it in preaching. He also knew that many people would find it difficult to believe in the new things he promises.

When Jehovah inspired the apostle John to write this promise about Paradise, he knew that we would use it in preaching today. He also knew that many people would find it difficult to believe in the “new things” he promised.

4. b) What did Jehovah do besides make a promise?

Well, in the case of Jehovah, this is not the case. He not only limited himself to making us this beautiful promise, but he also gave us convincing reasons to believe in it, and we will see those reasons in the next paragraph.

In our time it is very common for people to make promises, but in reality we find it very difficult to believe in them, and the reason is because some seem unreasonable. In Jehovah's case it is not like that, all his promises are reasonable.

JEHOVAH GUARANTEES THAT HIS PROMISE WILL COME TRUE

5. In which verses do we find reasons to trust in Jehovah's promise, and what do they say?

In verse 5 of chapter 21 of Revelation, it is mentioned that “Jehovah is making all things new,” and in verse 6 he mentions that “They have already come true, for he is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end".

Something that we will study later is when he says that he is the Alpha and the Omega.

6. How do the words of Revelation 21:5, 6 strengthen our confidence in Jehovah's promise?

It is as if Jehovah himself were affirming for humanity a guarantee for the things he promises us.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

In the Bible record of Revelation 21:3 and 4, we find the promise that Jehovah has made to all humanity, and later in verses 5 and 6, it is as if Jehovah puts his signature on that promise, and this signature by Saying so gives us full security that it will be fulfilled, which strengthens our confidence in this beautiful promise that Jehovah gives us.

And here it says they have already come true, so Jehovah is so sure that the blessings he has promised will be fulfilled that they are already a reality for him.

In the note of Revelation it says how strengthening for our faith because it says Look, I am going to make all things new, so instead of questioning what is done or not done because we see that Jehovah is as if he had fulfilled what he We must ask ourselves what I personally have to do to inherit those blessings.

7. Who begins to speak in verse 5, and why is that special?

As the same book of Revelation mentions to us, we see that the one who was sitting on the throne said, that is, Jehovah was the one who said and the seal is what Titus 1:2 tells us that he can never lie.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

In verse 5 it begins by saying: "He who sits on the throne", which does not give the idea that the one who gives us the guarantee is not a powerful angel, nor is it Jesus, but that it is Jehovah himself who gives us this guarantee.

And Jehovah throughout his entire written word we have seen that he has used powerful angels, Jesus himself as spokesperson and the word to transmit his messages and there are few times in which he speaks directly, in this case in all the visions compiled in apocalypse specifically, he speaks directly three times and this is really special because it reinforces our confidence that Jehovah is truly behind this promise and until it is fulfilled, we already know that it will be like that.

The faithful and prudent slave when writing this information also makes it clear to us in the verse that this guarantee is given to Jehovah himself, he says, not a powerful angel and not even Jesus Christ, these words are interesting because it is Jehovah who also expresses what he is going to do in his inspired word.

"LOOK! “I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW”

8. What does Jehovah say to confirm that his promise will be fulfilled? (Isaiah 46:10).

To confirm that his promise will be fulfilled, Jehovah declares that: “He is making all things new.” While it is true that Jehovah is talking about changes that he will make in the future, the interesting thing is that he is so sure that this promise will come true, that he talks about these changes as if he were no longer making them.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Well, Jehovah also says I am doing all these new things because I am faithful and true.

Isaiah 46:10 Jehovah knows the future, he knows what the outcome of a matter is, so when he says that he will make all things new it is because he is certain that this is how it will happen because he never lies.

Of course when he says from the beginning, that is, from the beginning because he is doing things, he is making all things new obviously due to the disobedience of Adam and Eve, but then he says from a long time ago things that have not yet been done, for us they have not been done. because we have not yet been able to see them but for Jehovah we have because it is as if they had already been fulfilled, so as we have studied in other articles we see that Jehovah has both his plan and his purpose and he is going to fulfill it and that has to be our reality .

9. a) What actions does the phrase “making all things new” make us think of?

Replacing and restoring.

This phrase “Making all things new” makes us think of two actions that Jehovah will perform: The first is to replace. In Revelation 21:1 it says, that thus the former and the former earth had disappeared, Therefore the former heaven represents the governments that are under the influence of Satan and demons, and the earth in this context represents the evil people of nowadays. And the second action that Jehovah will perform is to restore, which means that Jehovah will not only make simple improvements in heaven and earth, but will make great changes.

9. b) What will happen to today's “heaven” and “earth”?

The heaven and earth of today will be completely destroyed and replaced by a new heaven and a new earth. Which means they will be replaced by a new Government and a new human society.

Yes, and Revelation 21:1 still adds a third actor who says and the sea no longer exists, in this case the sea would be the whole of unstable humanity.

Heaven will be a new government that will be that of the Kingdom of God and a new human society that is the Earth.

10. In what other sense will Jehovah make “all things new”?

Jehovah will restore the entire earth, all living beings, including us, he will cure us of all our evils, he will restore us.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Jehovah will not only replace heaven and earth, but will also restore the planet and humanity to perfection. The entire planet will become a paradise, just as Isaiah prophesied. This paradise will be as beautiful as Jehovah had made it at the beginning in the Garden of Eden.

To better understand what it means to restore, many of us will have heard that sometimes paintings are restored, not masterpieces that perhaps due to time due to dust, they deteriorate and there are specialized people who restore that painting little by little with a lot of love, well, Jehovah will restore the Earth, all this problem that we have now with droughts will be restored. The earth will be restored by human beings. All the problems we have with diseases will be restored. He will also restore them and we will be fresh.

Yes, in Isaiah 35 from 1 to 7, it shows us what the earth will be like and all the benefits that human beings who live there at that time will have.

And what a beautiful thing that Jehovah is going to be, that is going to be totally new Isaiah 25:8 that is going to eliminate death forever and, as he says, he will remove the dishonor of his people from the earth because Jehovah himself has said it, that is, these are the promises that we love to hear when we go through so much pain because all of this Jehovah is going to make all things new and it is going to be wonderful.

“THEY ARE FAITHFUL AND TRUE” AND “THEY HAVE ALREADY COME TRUE!”

11. What did Jehovah command John, and why?

Jehovah gave John this command: “Write these words, for they are faithful and true,” but Jehovah not only commanded him to do this, but also gave him a reason to do so. And the reason Jehovah gave him this order is because he wanted him to meditate on the wonderful blessings that he would have in the future.

Well, he said to write them down because they are faithful and true, reliable and accurate, and as we have seen in previous paragraphs, Jehovah knew that we would use this wonderful hope to share it with people but also for ourselves so that we can meditate on that wonderful hope and those blessings. that take us to a wonderful future.

12. Why can Jehovah say “They have come true!”?

Because Jehovah is almighty, therefore when he says something, nothing and no one is going to prevent it from being fulfilled.

By saying “They have already come true,” Jehovah gives us to understand that the things he has promised about paradise have already happened. And this is so, because Jehovah knows that nothing and no one can prevent his purpose from being fulfilled.

“I AM THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA”

13. Why does Jehovah claim “I am the Alpha and the Omega”?

Jehovah, by stating that he is the "Alpha and Omega", gives us to understand that when he starts something he finishes it.

14. a) Give an example of when Jehovah said “Alpha” and when he will say “Omega.”

Because Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and Omega the last, so when he says this he implies that when he starts something he finishes it.

In Genesis 1:28, we find Jehovah's purpose for humanity. There Jehovah, after creating Adam and Eve, told them his original purpose for humanity and for the earth, and this involved having many children and multiplying and filling the earth. and take control of it. At that moment when revealing his purpose it is as if Jehovah said "Alpha."

And when the day comes when the obedient and perfect descendants of Adam and Eve fill the earth and turn it into a paradise. Jehovah at that moment So to speak will say "Omega"

14. b) What does Jehovah guarantee us in Genesis 2:1-3?

Because what he had proposed will be fulfilled, in fact he dedicated this seventh day to fulfilling the purpose for humanity.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Jehovah ensured the fulfillment of his purpose by declaring the seventh day sacred, meaning that Jehovah dedicated the seventh day to fulfilling his purpose for humanity and the earth. For this reason, by the end of that seventh day, his purpose will be completely realized.

Yes, we would be in the seventh, which is when Jehovah has already entered this period of rest, it began on the seventh day when he finished creating Eve and will end on the seventh creative day after the millennium.

ILLUSTRATION

Images related to the fulfillment of Jehovah's purpose. 1. “Alpha.” Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. 2. The consequences of the rebellion, represented by Satan as an evil angel, aged Adam and Eve, the tower of Babel, a cemetery, some soldiers, a tank, some fighter planes, some polluting factories and a crowd at a demonstration. Below are two images that show how Jehovah's purpose is being fulfilled: Jesus on the torture stake, representing the ransom, and a group of Jehovah's servants from ancient and modern times, representing the righteous descendants of Adam and Eve. . 3. “Omega”. Several people in Paradise, working and enjoying life together. When Jehovah starts something, he finishes it. (See paragraphs 14 and 17).

15. Why might it have seemed that Jehovah could no longer fulfill his purpose?

When he was revealed to Adam and Eve, they became sinners, and consequently passed on sin and death to their descendants, which could have given the impression that Jehovah could never fulfill his purpose and say Omega.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

If when Adam and Eve rebelled they lost perfection, they already passed on sin and imperfection to their children, then it would seem that perhaps Jehovah already had it more difficult, but no.

Precisely the accusation that the devil made then that accused him of being a liar, if he had made that decision the earth would not have been populated with the descendants of Adam and Eve.

16. Why did Satan perhaps think he could accuse Jehovah of being a failure?

While it is true that Jehovah told Adam and Eve to have children, Satan possibly thought that they would never become perfect. If this had happened, Satan would have accused Jehovah of being a failure, because God's purpose could not be fulfilled, the Earth would not be filled with perfect human beings.

Now that it was clear that the descendants of Adam and Eve would have descendants, obviously these descendants could not be perfect because they came from an imperfect couple, therefore now the Devil could accuse Jehovah of failure.

17. What did Jehovah do to resolve the rebellion of Satan and the first humans, and how will it all end? (See also the image).

Jehovah, to resolve the rebellion of Satan and the first humans, made there be a descendant who would save the descendants of Adam and Eve who were obedient, and his purpose continued. And at the end of the thousand years everything will end, the obedient descendants and perfect of Adam and Eve, they will live on earth converted into a paradise, just as Jehovah intended from the beginning. At that time, Jehovah will be able to say "Omega"

To resolve the rebellion of Satan and the first humans, Jehovah allowed Adam and Eve to have children, thus demonstrating that his word is always fulfilled and that it is not a failure. Furthermore, Jehovah established a plan of salvation through a “seed” that would save the obedient descendants of Adam and Eve. This plan was fulfilled through rescue, a gesture of pure love that will resolve the rebellion of Satan and the first humans. In the end, Jehovah’s purpose of filling the Earth with obedient and perfect people will be fulfilled.

HOW TO STRENGTHEN OUR TRUST IN THE PROMISE OF PARADISE

18. What three reasons does Jehovah give us to trust in his promise? (See also the box “Three Reasons to Trust in Jehovah's Promise.”)

First of all, it is Jehovah himself who makes the promise. Secondly, Jehovah is so sure that his promise will be fulfilled that he speaks of it as if it had already happened. Thirdly, when Jehovah begins something he finishes it.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

The promise comes directly from Jehovah himself. In Revelation, it is recorded that “He who sat on the throne” declared, “I am making all things new.”

Jehovah affirms that his words are “faithful and true.” He speaks of the promise as if it had already happened, ensuring that these words "Have already come true!" This assurance from Jehovah about the fulfillment of his words demonstrates his faithfulness and trustworthiness.

The statement “I am the Alpha and the Omega” This statement affirms that he is the beginning and the end of all things, confirming his ability to fulfill his purposes from beginning to end.

Three reasons to trust in Jehovah's promise

A shining throne that represents Jehovah.

“He who sat on the throne said, 'Look! I am making all things new'” (Rev. 21:5).

The apostle John writing on a parchment.

“He also said, 'Write these words, for they are faithful and true.' […] 'They have come true!'” (Rev. 21:5, 6).

The Greek letters alpha and omega.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega” (Rev. 21:6).

19. What could you do if someone has a hard time believing that Earth will be a paradise?

As the paragraph mentions, a good idea would be to read and explain verses 5 and 6, and show the person that Jehovah has guaranteed the fulfillment of his promise, it is as if he had put his own signature.

If someone has difficulty believing that Earth will be a paradise, their confidence can be strengthened by talking to them about the guarantees that God gives us. It can be mentioned that Jehovah guarantees that the Earth will be a paradise in the future, and that we can trust his promises because it is impossible for God to lie.

WHAT WOULD YOU ANSWER?

Why is it special that it is Jehovah himself who has promised Paradise?

It is special that it is Jehovah himself who has promised paradise because he is the creator of the universe and has the power and wisdom to fulfill his promise. Furthermore, Jehovah is a God of love and mercy, and his promise of his country is a display of his love for humanity. Since Jehovah is the one who makes the promise, we can be sure that it will be fulfilled, since he is faithful and true in everything he says.

What phrases are part of the guarantee that God gives us?

The guarantee that God gives us includes the following phrases: «Look, I am making things new», «Write these words, because they are faithful and true» «They have already come true», «I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

How can we strengthen our confidence in the promise of Paradise?

We can strengthen our confidence in the promise of paradise by remembering the guarantees that God gives us. For example, in Revelation 21:5, Jehovah declares: “Look, I am making things new.” Furthermore, he affirms that these words are faithful and true, and that they have already come true. This direct statement from Jehovah, who cannot lie, reinforces our confidence that his promise will be fulfilled.
