Speech (5 mins.) lmd appendix A point 1. Title: The bad things that are happening and the way people act are proof that everything will soon improve (th lesson 16).
In the year 2023, it was a time when even the most positive people felt discouraged. When we saw the first outbreaks of the pandemic, many thought that this would be temporary, but it was not like that, people became more and more complicated, some even thought that This would be the end of humanity.
Today many are witnesses that things have been getting worse with the passage of time. The news we hear every day, the difficulties we face, and the way some people act can lead us to wonder: Is there hope for a better future?
How can that be true, when the Bible points to darker days, For example, your Bible speaks please in the biblical record of Matthew chapter 24 verses 7 to 8 and we read Together please. He says like this...
LET'S READ MATTHEW 24:7,8.
“For nation will fight against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famine and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All this is the beginning of great suffering.
The key to ending this and starting better times is to keep in mind what Jesus' disciples really asked him. Let's read Matthew 24:3.
LET'S READ MATTHEW 24:3.
While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately and asked: “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what sign will there be of your presence and of the completion of the system?”
He listened to what the apostles said at the end, in other words they asked him: What would be the evidence that would show the end of the system of things. Then it would not be a dark period, but the culmination of this system.
So we can be sure from this passage that dark times were not an isolated event, as Luke also records it Luke chapter 21 verses 10 and 11
LET'S READ LUKE 21:10,11.
Then he said to them: “Nation will fight against nation and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes and, in one place after another, famine and epidemics. And fearful scenes and great signs from heaven will be seen.
Another passage where this is recorded is 2 Timothy 3:15, which I invite you to read. He says….
LET'S READ 2 TIMOTHY 3:1,5.
But you must know that in the last days there will come critical times that are difficult to endure. 2 Because people will only love themselves; They will be lovers of money, boastful,* arrogant, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, ungrateful and disloyal, 3 they will not have natural affection, they will not be willing to reach any agreement, they will be slanderers, they will not have self-control,* they will be fierce, they will not love what that is good, 4 they will be treacherous and stubborn, they will be full of pride, they will love pleasures instead of God 5 and they will appear to have devotion to God,* but in reality they will be denying the power of that devotion. Stay away from them.
So do we have to get discouraged? No, my brothers, at that moment is when we should be most happy. Think of a runner who, after having endured the entire race, suddenly sees, The big curtain that says arrival, would he let his guard down and start running more slowly, or would he have more time? strength to run faster?
It is true that he would lengthen his steps in order to arrive, so my brothers there is no reason to become discouraged when we see that times advance from bad to worse. As the Bible said in Luke chapter 21 and verse 28 Where it says: Let us stand tall because our deliverance is drawing near.
