Congregation Book Study, November 6-12, 2023, Chapter 1 paragraphs 16-21, “Go and make disciples”, Responses.

Congregation Bible study (30 mins.): bt chap. 1 paras. 16-21.

16. What three objectives does this publication have?

Yes, this publication, a complete testimony of the Kingdom of God, has three objectives: The first is to confirm that Jehovah supports with his Spirit the work of Preaching the Kingdom and making disciples. It also motivates us to imitate the enthusiasm with which the first Christians preached. And the third objective is to increase our respect for Jehovah's organization and for the brothers who direct the work and oversee the congregations.

17, 18. How is this publication organized, and what resources does it offer for personal study?

This publication is organized into eight sections covering different parts of the book of acts in the Bible. Rather than analyzing the book verse by verse, lessons are drawn from the stories and guidance is provided on how to apply those lessons in everyday life. Each chapter begins with a brief sentence that summarizes the main idea, followed by the biblical reference that supports the information presented.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

The book is structured into eight sections that correspond to the book of acts, but unlike other books it does not analyze verse by verse. rather it shows choices from an entire story and how we can apply them in our lives.

Something else that the book shows us is that before starting to analyze it, it presents a brief phrase that is the main idea of the study that we are going to do and also mentions the biblical reference on which the information in this Chapter will be based.

It also offers resources for our personal study. For example, it brings beautiful illustrations that help us record exciting events in our minds and we find boxes with additional information, some of which they present are data from the servants of God, while others add details, events, customs and other characters that appear in the book of Acts.

In addition, the publication offers boxes with complementary information. These boxes provide information about servants of God who are examples of faith, as well as details about places, events, customs, and other people who appear in Acts.

ILLUSTRATION

A brother assigns two publishers an area to preach. Let us cover with a sense of urgency the territory assigned to us.

19. What examination of conscience should we do from time to time?

It is advisable that we do an examination of conscience from time to time, with the aim of evaluating our priorities in life and our attitude towards the work of preaching and making disciples. Among some of the questions in this self-examination we could consider some of these questions: Do I still have the same sense of urgency today as I did at the beginning in my service to Jehovah? Am I still preaching with conviction and enthusiasm, or have I lost some of my initial fervor? Have I participated as much as I can in the Ministry, or have I neglected my responsibility in this regard?

And in 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, the apostle Paul encourages us to live with the perspective that time is short and the things of the world are passing away. It reminds us that we should focus on spiritual things and not on material things, since material things are temporary but spiritual things are eternal. Therefore this verse invites us to reflect on our priorities and make sure we are focused on things. that really matter.

20, 21. Why is our work so urgent, and what must we be determined to do?

Our work is so urgent because the end is ever closer, and many lives are at stake. We don't know how many people will have the right attitude and respond to the message, but it is our responsibility to help them before it is too late, as mentioned in 1 Timothy 4:16. We must be determined to imitate the example of the First Century Christians, carefully study the publication to preach with enthusiasm and boldness, and bear a complete testimony about the kingdom of God, as indicated in Acts 28:23.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

As we very well know, the end is at hand, for this reason it is very important to carry out the work of preaching and making disciples, because we must help people to have an exact knowledge of the truth, which is why we must be determined to continue giving. complete testimony of the Kingdom of God throughout all parts of the earth.

And in 1 Timothy 4:16 we are reminded that we must pay attention to our teaching and persevere in it, because by doing so, we will save ourselves and those who hear us, so this verse encourages us to be faithful in our work of teaching. teach biblical truth and remain firm in our faith.
