APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: November 27-December 3, 2023, Speech, Lesson 17, Prepared Assignment.

Speech (5 mins.): g 5/09 12, 13. Title: Does God want me to become rich? (th lec. 17).

«A new day dawns, and the Lord wants me to fill myself with money» «I have big dreams because heaven wants me to dream big» «God gives me the strength to get rich» «I am prosperous because I believe in God?

These phrases reflect the point of view of various religious denominations that attribute material prosperity to God's blessing. They tell their parishioners that if they do what God asks of them, he will bless them with the good things in life and reward them in the afterlife. This concept is widely accepted, and the books that promote it reach million-dollar sales. But does this “prosperity theology” harmonize with what the Bible teaches?

Our creator, here in the Bible called the “happy God,” wants us to live happy lives. Furthermore, he blesses those who worship him. But in our days, does that blessing consist of material goods? It is easy to answer when we understand, according to God's purpose, in what moment in history we live.

In the past, Jehovah God blessed some of his servants with wealth, including the patriarch Job and King Solomon. However, many servants of God had very little, such as John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. What lesson does this contain? Well, according to the Bible, God acts with his servants according to his purpose depending on the time in which they lived. What does this have to do with us?

Let's please look at what 2 Timothy 3:1-5 says, What do biblical prophecies reveal? Let's read together, please, if you found it, accompany me with the reading, it says like this...

LET'S READ 2 TIMOTHY 3:1–5.

But you must know that in the last days there will come critical times that are difficult to endure. 2 Because people will only love themselves; They will be lovers of money, boastful,* arrogant, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, ungrateful and disloyal, 3 they will not have natural affection, they will not be willing to reach any agreement, they will be slanderers, they will not have self-control,* they will be fierce, they will not love what that is good, 4 they will be treacherous and stubborn, they will be full of pride, they will love pleasures instead of God 5 and they will appear to have devotion to God,* but in reality they will be denying the power of that devotion. Stay away from them.

Biblical prophecies reveal that we live in “The Last Days” of this world. In fact, the text shows conditions that have plagued man on an unprecedented scale since 1914. In view of all this, would it make sense for God to bless his servants with material prosperity, or would he have other objectives for them?

Of course, there is nothing wrong with eating, drinking, marrying, buying and selling, the danger is that one is focused on these things and loses sight of the urgency of the times. since now we are in a time of saving lives. Now let's please look at what Jesus said in Matthew 24:14 And let's see: What is our work and why is it so urgent? The text says the following…………..

LET'S READ MATTHEW 24:14.

"And the good news of the Kingdom will be preached throughout the inhabited earth as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." Therefore, Jehovah's Witnesses take these words very seriously, since our work is to preach the Kingdom of God on a global scale, and that is why we encourage our neighbors to learn about the Kingdom of God and how to obtain eternal life.

So do we have to worry excessively about our physical and material needs? Of course not, God promises his servants to take care of their material needs. This is mentioned in the text of Hebrews 13:15, which we are going to read and says like this….

LET'S READ HEBREWS 13:5.

What is a way of living that is free from the love of money, and is happy with the things you have. Why he has said: "I will never leave you and I will never abandon you."

God will fulfill his word in an outstanding way when he protects “a great multitude” of faithful servants during the end of this system of things and ushers them into a world of peace and true prosperity.

Therefore, dear brothers, let us remember that this evil system of things has very little left, and that very soon under the Kingdom of God we will enjoy true wealth and prosperity for all eternity.
