Congregation Book Study, 26-June-2-July-2023, Lesson 49, Points 1-5, How you can have a happy family (part 1), Answers.

Congregation Bible study (30 min.): lff lesson 49 points 1-5.

1. What advice does the Bible give a husband?

The Bible gives us a lot of advice, and to husbands too. One of them is found in the well-known Ephesians 5:25, they have to love their wives at all times since this is how they will make good decisions, always keeping in mind the well-being of the family in the first place, although sometimes they can be complicated decisions or even controversial.

The Bible delegates the responsibility of being the head of the family to the husband, but this does not mean that now he can do what he wants, but rather that he has to watch over the happiness and well-being of his family, and one of the things that must to do is take into account their thoughts, opinions and even decisions, although they may have to make hard or complicated decisions contrary to what the rest of the family thinks because it is the right thing in the eyes of Jehovah and for the family's well-being.

One of the ways in which the husband loves his wife, as indicated by Ephesians, is by listening to her, praying with and for her, sharing quality time in harmony with biblical principles and Bible study, as well as satisfying spiritual and spiritual needs. To the extent possible, family materials if you are the only person working in the family unit.

2. What advice does the Bible give to the wife?

Ephesians also gives advice to wives, and it is that they have to respect Jehovah and their husbands. Just as we know that the head of the family is the husband, the wife has to respect this biblical principle and this implies obeying her husband in decisions or circumstances that he may think is not the right thing to do or wants to do just the opposite, always and when it is not an authoritarian relationship contrary to what the Bible teaches.

While it is true that the husband looks after the well-being and both spiritual and material needs to the extent possible, the wife respects her husband, valuing this work to be done for the whole family, making it easy for him, being grateful and not selfish, valuing everything that the husband does, his effort to maintain unity and peace within the family.

These principles also apply when there is a spouse outside the truth, and that is, as long as faith is not put at stake or they are sins in the eyes of Jehovah, we must respect the sovereignty and the rules that God stipulates within the union sacred of marriage, even if they do not share the same beliefs.

3. How can a couple strengthen their marriage?

Matthew 19:5 tells us that we have to be one flesh, that is the way to strengthen our marriage. This does not mean that each spouse loses his life to live one together, each one has his own life with his free will and freedom of thought. But if we keep in mind that we are one flesh, this will prevent us from making decisions, acting or having behaviors that are detrimental to our spouse, because we will not do anything that we do not like ourselves, and therefore our spouse, because we think as one meat.

LET'S DEEPER INTO THE SUBJECT

Let's see what biblical principles can strengthen your marriage.

4. Husband, love and care for your wife

The Bible says that “husbands are to love their wives as their own bodies” (Ephesians 5:28, 29). What does this imply? Watch the VIDEO and talk about the following:

VIDEO: Husband, love your wife as yourself (9:53)

In what ways can a husband show love and consideration to his wife?

As the brother begins by saying in the speech, love our wife as ourselves, because if we do so, we will never do anything that hurts us and therefore, we will never do anything that our wife dislikes or bothers her, or hurt you.

One aspect that the husband must do is feed his wife and his family, but we are not only talking materially but also spiritually, with the biblical knowledge that our wife needs to satisfy her spiritual needs.

A second way is treat with tenderness, Ephesians 5:29, indicate to caress, that is, treat our wife with love and tenderness so that we never hurt her, not even by our words, actions or gestures. The caresses are not only physical, but caresses of speech, words, actions, consideration, behavior, etc., all are ways of treating our wives with love and affection.

Another aspect that is very important is to forgive and not give too much importance to mistakes, but to heal the differences that we may have. Just as we forgive ourselves or do not give much importance to our imperfections or mistakes, in the same way we have to do with the possible imperfections of our wife and in other cases, we will be with our wife helping her and healing her from the problems that can have.

Read Colossians 3:12 and discuss the following:

How can the husband reflect these qualities in his marriage?

We read in Colossians "tender compassion, kindness, humility, mildness, and patience." They are qualities that a husband demonstrates towards his wife if he loves and loves her as he would with himself and at all times and situations as we see in the drawings, in good times, in bad times and helping and sharing household and housework. daily routine.

5. Wife, love and respect your husband

The Bible advises a wife to respect her husband whether he serves Jehovah or not. Read 1 Peter 3:1, 2 and discuss the following:

If your husband does not worship Jehovah, surely you want him to. What would give you better results: preaching to him all the time, or winning him over with his behavior and respect? Why does he think so?

Undoubtedly, demonstrating the qualities of God on a day-to-day basis is the fruit of the spirit of the living Word of Jehovah that he gives us through the Bible and that is how a person who is not among God's people can see that he really is the truth and that Jehovah is behind this town and that is why it is the best way to treat a non-Christian spouse, because as many of us will have, if we had a life, it is difficult to suddenly leave it and serve God, we have to be a support and not a pressure.

How does Jehovah feel when his wife shows that she respects her husband?

As we have just read, Jehovah sees these women as of great value in his eyes because they continue to serve God in very difficult circumstances, putting God before their family, subjecting themselves at all times to the principle of sovereignty that Jehovah established even with a spouse that their decisions may not be the most correct because they do not keep Biblical principles in mind.
