APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: May 29-June 4, 2023, Bible Course, Lesson 13 Prepared Assignment.
Bible course (6 min.): lff lesson 10 point 4 (th lec. 13).
Publisher: Let's go to point number 4, The meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses. In the first century, they also met together and what they did is detailed, in Colossians 3:16, which I would like you to read please.
Student: Yes, okay, it goes like this:……
Publisher: Now that we have read the text, the question is, how did the early Christians worship?
Student: Well, it says there that they were taught, and they were encouraged with praise and spiritual songs.
Publisher: Very good, and you can see that that is what is done today in the congregation meetings, teaching and praising Jehovah with songs. We are going to see something more detailed about how our meetings are in the following video, do you think?
Student: Let's see what it's about?
Publisher: Now after watching the video, the question is what similarities do you find between what the Kingdom hall does and what Colossians 3:16 says.
Student: Well, according to what I observed in the video, it's the same thing they sing, teach and praise Jehovah.
Publisher: As you may have noticed, we always follow the example that is in the Bible.
Student: I find it interesting.
Publisher: Now when looking at the drawing we see four situations that occur in our meetings, if you can see in the first person conferences are presented, another part of the meeting is that you can participate in them, also at the end or at the beginning of the meeting more people are welcomed and met. And finally, in the Meetings, since there are no collections, which of these attracts you the most?
Student: I am attracted to two, one where the speeches are given because it is seen that they are very instructive, and the other where no collections are made.
Publisher: Good. And I could ask him why he likes those two things?
Student: Well the first one because the teaching is very good, you can see that they take it from the Bible and they don't see the worship of God as a way to get money, like other religions do.
Publisher: Very good, so there we see the benefits of our meetings. Now you mention about the collections, let's see what 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, would you like to read it?
Student: Sure, it goes like this:….
Publisher: Thanks for your reading, now the question related to this text is, why is money not asked for in meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses?
Student: According to the text, it says that God loves a cheerful giver, and that means that one can give of his own free will what he feels in his heart.
Publisher: So if one wishes to give so that more publications based on the Bible continue to be made, what could one do?
Student: Well, it says there that you give what you want.
Publisher: Does this way of giving to Jehovah seem practical to you?
Student: Of course, because sometimes it may be that you have at that moment, and you can do it at another time, that's why it seems practical to me.
Publisher: Here is a schedule of our weekday and weekend meetings. As you can see, the first parts are an introduction, then a reading is assigned and many comment, what can be applied either in our life or in the field Ministry or something that Jehovah teaches us. Then there is a part where the publishers are helped, such as what we are doing now, How to give a Bible study, How to make requirements and How to preach. And finally, a publication is being studied precisely, this book is being studied. And on the weekend we listen to a speech on very important topics and study a different topic with the Watchtower magazine, which is based on the Bible. Which of all do you like the most?
Student: I've always liked weekend meetings for the speech.
Publisher: I'm glad you like the meetings, now let's get to the point.
