APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: May 15-21-2023, Speech, Lesson 8, Assignment Prepared.

Talk (5 min.): w10 2/15 6-7 pars. 6-10. Title: The spirit of Jehovah will help you to be brave (th lec. 8).

What does it mean to you to be a brave person? Perhaps more than one of us, right now, without giving it much thought, would say that a person is capable of facing a very complicated situation.

Indeed, this is a definition of being brave. But bravery is a more complex word that involves a lot of details that a human being has to put together.

For example, David, when he fought Goliath, would we say that he was a brave person? David was not arrogant or reckless, of course he was afraid, he knew who he was up against, but he also had faith, faith in God that it would be his will.

Therefore, we see that being brave implies many details such as faith in God, because Jehovah helps us with his holy spirit to be courageous people.

Another example that we find in the Bible is that of the young Jeremiah, who at about 17 years of age Jehovah entrusted him with a great task, we are going to read it if you accompany me in Jeremiah 1:4-6, there it says:

LET'S READ JEREMIAH 1:4-6

“I received the words of Jehovah. He told me: “Before I formed you in the womb, I already knew you; and, before you were born, I sanctified you. I made you a prophet to the nations." But I said: “Oh, Sovereign Lord Jehovah! I do not know how to speak. I'm just a boy."

The young boy would now be a prophet in his land for the most powerful nations of that time. Was Jeremiah born brave, or David?

Of course not. We notice that in the verse it says that Jehovah already knew him and sanctified him.

If we continue with the definition of this word: courage, we have to say that it is a voluntary choice, each one of us decides to be brave in the face of a difficulty, problem or fear; impulsiveness is something else.

What do we need to cultivate this quality of courage?

Let's go back to our daily life for a moment, when we were young... if we had to pass a very difficult exam, we could be afraid, right? But, the more hours we dedicate to studying that subject, we saw that same exam easier?

In the field of work, the first days we can be nervous, but the experience we are acquiring, the day-to-day knowledge, makes us face and even accept jobs that we did not dare to do before, have we gained in courage? No?

And it is that being a brave person is a voluntary decision that comes from the interior of each one of us, the will of David and Jeremiah, because they had knowledge of God, because they trusted Him.

Just like the people of this system of things, on many occasions trust in their qualities, the servants of God must also do so.

Of course, it is essential for this to know ourselves very well, what are our fears, our qualities, our strengths, our weaknesses? Do you work on the weak aspects and improve the good ones?

Brothers, we are all brave because we are the people of God and we have faced and have to face many difficulties. Even so, at certain moments we can feel that it is not so, what will help us? Two aspects, the first: the knowledge that we have acquired from the Scriptures, because Hebrews 4:12 says so, in its first part, we can read there:

"Because the word of God is alive and works with power."

And the second aspect, how will the living holy spirit of Jehovah that we just read help us? Well, looking for 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and always keeping it in mind:

There it says: "Pray constantly."

Yes, brothers and sisters, being courageous in all areas of our secular and theocratic life is a voluntary decision that comes from within us, from our hearts thanks to Biblical knowledge, trust and faith that Jehovah acts with power through us helping us to be courageous people through his holy spirit when we ask him firmly and consistently.
