“Protect your heart” (10 min.): Analysis with the audience and video.

What bad influences did these brothers face, and how did this study article help them protect their hearts?

Brent and Lauren

Brent and Lauren had godbrothers with whom they were very close because they did many things together in the service. But these brothers strayed from Jehovah and became bad company and eventually stopped serving Jehovah. The January 2009 Watchtower article helped both Brent and Lauren tremendously, because it made them see that they needed to be vigilant and close the doors of their hearts to anything that would jeopardize their spirituality. it also made them see that their loyalty was to Jehovah before anyone else.

umjay

Umjay had problems with her father, although they did not live together, he was determined that she did not progress spiritually. Un High also had a struggle with what they were teaching her at the university, since they tried to convince her that for someone to do well in life she must have a lot of money and material goods. The January 2009 Watchtower article helped him understand that this was a materialist trap used by Satan to draw people away from Jehovah. On the other hand, she wanted to serve Jehovah full time but she felt that she was missing a little push, but reading the article helped her decide and now she serves Jehovah very happily as a regular pioneer.

He says that he really liked to watch television, although every day it was more difficult to find something decent to watch. The January 2009 Watchtower article helped remind her that the stories her mother told when she was very young still had an influence on her. So she realized that what she saw on television was also influencing her and that sooner or later it would end up affecting her. This article also helped him understand that making changes in this regard was a Christian responsibility. And although it might not be easy for her to stop doing it because she liked to watch television a lot, the first thing was her friendship with Jehovah and her loyalty to her just standards.

And you? How did this study article help you?

In a personal way, it helped me a lot because it made me see that the more technology there is, Satan will try to use it to spread ideas that distract us from the truth or weaken our faith, since now he not only uses television, but also the Internet, as well that we must be very careful with the type of content we consume.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

The study article helped me understand that in order to protect my heart, as Proverbs 4:23 says, I must avoid the influence of Satan, who uses the goals of this world, materialism, bad company and entertainment to damage our spirituality and distance us from Jehovah.

The January 2009 Watchtower study article has helped me understand that in order to protect my heart I must keep my inner sentinel alert, so that it warns me of danger and tells me when to close the doors of anything that could harm my heart. spirituality and affect my relationship with Jehovah.

The January 2009 Watchtower study article has also helped me understand that I should live according to Bible principles, because they are Jehovah's loving protection for me. Also, it helped me understand that Biblical principles are a protective barrier to my Christian integrity.

ANALYSIS OF OTHER ADDITIONAL POINTS OF THE VIDEO.

Brent and Lauren. They say:

We had some very good friends who decided to do things their own way and leave Jehovah, and before they finally made that decision, they became bad company. We had done many things together serving Jehovah, such as going to preach in isolated territory or going to the hospital to visit a sick brother to give him encouragement, it hurts me a lot that they are no longer serving Jehovah, it is very sad that a friend abandons Lord, it's very sad.

Umjay says:

I was about to start full-time service, but I still needed a little push. My mom raised me as a witness, and even though she didn't have much contact with my dad, he kept trying to keep me from progressing spiritually, but I fought to stay in the truth. And I got baptized when I was 11 years old, I think I felt like I was being enough for Jehovah, and after I finished high school I went to college.

Happy Layou says:

I had to make some adjustments in the way I chose my entertainment, the truth is that we never stop learning. I like to relax watching TV, but I have to admit that it's getting harder and harder to find something decent to watch. I am not saying that I watch bad programs, I would never do that, even so I wonder: if what I see on television is helping me to stay close to Jehovah?

Umjay says:

At university they tried to convince me that in order to have security in life, I needed material things. How to buy a house and get a lot of money... But at what price, I remember a paragraph that said that Satan promotes the idea that to have security in this world you have to earn a lot of money, but trying to achieve it one can lose many things, even his friendship with Jehovah.

Brent and Lauren. They say:

That article was just what we needed, it talked about the Sentinels that protected the city and sounded the alarm and saw a danger approaching. So when they gave the alarm, the doors were closed to protect the city and that was what I had to do. We both had to do it, and well the truth is that it was very clear, our loyalty to Jehovah comes first, it is more important than our loyalty to anyone else.

Happy Layou says:

I remember a paragraph in The Watchtower saying that stories do much more than entertain us. In Bana, the city of Cameroon where I was born, mothers spend their afternoons with their children telling them stories, and even though I was little, the stories my mother told me continue to influence me to this day. So I said to myself, oh no, wait a minute, that means the stories I see on TV will affect me sooner or later too and the devil knows it. That's why I decided to stop watching several of the programs I used to watch.

Umjay says:

Now I am serving full time and I love it, I know that Jehovah is taking great care of me, but I do not want to forget the very wise principles that I have learned in this article, I have to continue protecting my heart, so I can give the best to my father Jehovah .

Brent and Lauren. They say:

Not a day goes by that we don't think of our friends, and we truly hope that they will return to Jehovah so that we can again serve him together shoulder to shoulder, we have also learned that we have to make sure that that sentinel within us do your job well, and sound the alarm and close the doors when necessary.

Happy Layou says:

We never stop learning. And of course it is easier said than done, but it is our responsibility we have to protect our hearts.
