Congregation Bible study (30 min.): lff lesson 41 points 1-4.
1. How does Jehovah view sex?
Sex is a gift from Jehovah and he wants it to be enjoyed by a married man and woman.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jehovah sees it as something that only a married man and woman should enjoy, which not only allows them to have children, but also to express their love in a natural and pleasurable way.
And the paragraph also mentions what Jehovah expects of married couples and that is that he wants them to be loyal, and that none of them commit adultery.
Hebrews 13:4 says that we should all honor marriage and not defile it and how can you defile marriage by committing adultery by being sexually immoral then this does not help marriage and Jehovah expects married Christians to be loyal to their partner so a Christian will never commit adultery.
And we can see that the world misuses this gift from Jehovah and therefore there are serious consequences, however when we use this gift from Jehovah well there is enjoyment and there is happiness.
Jehovah wants there to be happiness between the husband and the wife because I will want the little children to have a father and a mother.
Hebrews 13:4 When both spouses do not pollute the marriage and what does it mean to pollute when someone commits adultery he leaves with the person outside of marriage and says that he will judge those who are sexually immoral.
2. What is sexual immorality?
The Greek word for sexual immorality is Pornéia, which encompasses intimate relationships between people who are not married, homosexual relationships, and sex with animals.
The book of 1 Thessalonians 4:3 says this is the will of God that they be holy and refrain from sexual immorality, saints wants Jehovah to be clean in this sense and there the asterisk talks about what immorality is, for example, it has to have with penetration, oral, anal sex, the stimulation of the genital parts of the other person, then these are dirty things that Jehovah hates and that we are telling us that we should be clean.
LET'S DEEPER INTO THE SUBJECT
Let's see what you can do to avoid sexual immorality and what you will enjoy if you stay morally clean.
3. Flee from sexual immorality
A faithful man named Joseph fought to stay morally clean. Read Genesis 39:1-12 and discuss the following:
Why did Jose run away? (See verse 9.)
Well Joseph was very afraid of disappointing Jehovah by doing this.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Joseph fled because he wanted to stay clean in the eyes of God, and this was so because he knew that what he was proposing to this woman was wrong, and it was a sin against Jehovah.
Well, and as we can see, commenting in a speech, it was mentioned that for sin to give birth there must be opportunity and desire, but in this case the opportunity did exist because Potiphar's wife did tell him and asked Joseph to to sleep with her, but as we can see, José was strong and well, we can also see that the temptation was also strong, but that is why José had to make a strong decision and say no and escape, so we can see and he is a great example for us to be loyal to Jehovah.
But more than all this Joseph cared for his relationship with his creator and had a fear of spoiling his relationship by going against what, although it was not written yet, he saw that Jehovah did not like that thing.
Do you think Jose did the right thing? Because?
What Joseph did, there is no doubt that it was the best decision he could make in his life because in this way he was able to maintain his friendship with Jehovah, since if he had given in to the provocations of this woman and had turned his back on God .
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We must remember that in the case of Joseph, he had left his place of origin as a slave, they had sold him as a slave and Jehovah God was with him at all times, even though he had been in those terrible circumstances, he became a very important man who served For Potiphar, who earned his approval, his trust, and appointed him in charge of his entire household, then surely Joseph wanted to show that gratitude, that great love he felt for Jehovah, obeying his principles, his commands, and even though his parents were not there, his mother with him to see him he knew that Jehovah was seeing him and he wanted to demonstrate it by sticking to what he had learned from Jehovah and he knew that messing with that married woman was going to displease Jehovah.
So we can clearly see that what you wanted to sew to please Jehovah and had set his mind on how Jehovah thought at this point although there was no rule he saw that Jehovah had instituted a man and a woman and that he had married them then there was no a third person, so meditation helped José on this point.
How can young people imitate Joseph and flee from sexual immorality? Watch the video.
VIDEO: Flee Immorality (5:06)
Jehovah wants us all to reject sexual immorality. Read 1 Corinthians 6:18 and discuss the following:
What situations could lead someone to fall into sexual immorality?
In the video we saw various situations in which it could lead someone to commit sexual immorality. For example: perhaps spending a lot of time with a classmate or classmate or perhaps at work and even worse if that time is spent alone, and also if we have noticed certain attentions or insinuations from another person towards us, if they have After one of these situations then, we can be sure that we are in danger of falling into sexual immorality, which indicates that we must take action immediately.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Thinking that no one is going to find out, thinking that it will be a time like the boy we saw in the video, letting time go by and perhaps not finding a friend to tell even though someone may offer to talk because surely it shows the same way that the uncle something in him or her, so the important thing here is to be able to speak and recognize that what he is doing is not right and in the long run that is going to cause him problems.
It could be the situations that can arise, here in the video even though they were at school they were alone, so what if a young couple spends a lot of time alone one can say it won't happen to me, I know that's bad but no, the warning given by the apostle Paul is to flee from immorality, then we must avoid situations that could lead one to commit sin.
The youth of the world have nothing to lose, but the youth of the congregations do, their valuable friendship with Jehovah what it has cost them, losing it for just a moment.
How can you run away from sexual immorality?
We can escape from this trap by avoiding situations that could lead us to commit immorality at all costs, and we must also take into account what kind of friends we have, because if they are people who do not worship Jehovah, they will surely want to lead us towards the path of immorality.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
As we saw in the example of the video, we saw that something so harmless that you can appreciate how to help a classmate to do homework, a math problem can be so lethal that your brother may fall, maybe they will go home from the partner to do homework, then that is where something so harmless can become a sin towards Jehovah.
So fleeing from fornication means not exposing yourself or avoiding any situation that could involve you in a sin.
4. You can overcome temptation.
What things can complicate our fight against sexual immorality? Watch the VIDEO and talk about the following:
VIDEO: Let's fight temptations by reading the Bible (3:02)
When the brother in the video realized that his thoughts and actions could lead him to be unfaithful to his wife, what did he do?
What the brother did was meditate and examine himself, to see what had changed in his life, so what he did was look for information to see what he should do to stay clean in a spiritual sense, and after seeing the information proceeded to put it into practice in his life, thus becoming closer to his family.
And he searched for information in the Bible and remembered and found in Ephesians 5:25 and 26 where it reminded him that husbands love their wives, also that made him meditate that if he really wanted to be clean in a moral and spiritual sense, he should read the Bible not just once or from time to time but every day and that is an example for all of us husbands.
Even faithful Christians sometimes have to struggle to keep their minds clean. What can you do to avoid thinking about any immoral idea? Read Philippians 4:8 and discuss the following:
What kinds of things should we think about?
As the text of Philippians 4:8 mentions, we must think only of things that are serious, just, chaste, that inspire love, all that have a good reputation, virtuous. And most important of all, that they be worthy of Praise to Jehovah, if we do so we will continue to maintain Jehovah's approval.
The text that we have read precisely says that all the things that are serious, and it would refer precisely to what we are analyzing, not thinking about something that is not serious such as sexual immorality, we have the point of view, and we have already considered Jehovah's view of sexual morality.
Do you think that if we read the Bible and keep busy serving Jehovah it will be easier for us to resist temptation? Because?
Of course, because that way we will be strong in sense, which will prevent us from easily falling into any temptation that comes our way.
