6. Jehovah will meet our needs
VIDEO: Jehovah will meet our needs (6:30)
What challenges did the brother in the video face?
One challenge was balancing work and meetings. However, he always did his best to attend them.
Another challenge he had to face was putting up with the pressure from his boss since he insisted that the brother should also work on Sundays and since this was the day of his weekend meetings, the brother had to decide if took care of much-needed work to support his family, or if he continued to faithfully attend his Meetings.
Another challenge he had to face was putting up with the pressure from his boss since he insisted that the brother should also work on Sundays and since this was the day of his weekend meetings, the brother had to decide if took care of much-needed work to support his family, or if he continued to faithfully attend his Meetings.
Another challenge was talking to his boss and explaining his situation, since his boss was not willing to budge.
Another challenge was avoiding the temptation to take a new job, which would require him to travel a lot, thus missing even more meetings.
Another challenge was facing doubt, he came to think that perhaps he should have accepted his boss's proposal and attended the weekend meetings in another congregation.
What did you have to do to get ahead?
The brother had to accept the help of who was his Bible teacher. This mature brother advised him with Biblical principles such as that of Matthew 6:25-33, which teaches that if we put Jehovah and his justice first, everything else will hurt us. will be added.
Another thing that helped him get ahead was following the advice of the toughest brother who was his Bible teacher in terms of praying and taking Jehovah into account before making his decisions about work.
Another thing that helped him get ahead was being patient and waiting for Jehovah to help him find a suitable job. For which he continued making an effort to look for a job every day but without despairing.
Another thing that helped him get ahead was accepting government aid, because he had already been unemployed for 6 months.
Something that helped him get ahead was meditating on the words of Jesus recorded in Matthew 6:25-33, this made him see that he was still trusting in himself instead of trusting in Jehovah, reasoning on this motivated him to carry out the auxiliary pioneering while continuing to look for work.
Finally, another thing that helped him get ahead was Jehovah's blessing. As a reward for his patience, he got a job close to home with good hours that allows him to attend meetings and preaching work with his family, and this further strengthened his faith in Jehovah.
Read Matthew 6:25-34 and discuss the following:
What does Jehovah promise those who put him first in their lives?
To those who make the Kingdom the most important thing in their life and include Jehovah's standards about what is right and wrong to live according to them instead of seeking material things first, Jehovah promises to bless them, care for them and meet all their basic needs and give them what they need to live.
WHAT SOME SAY: “I have to work a lot to support my family. I can't go to the meetings every week.”
What Bible text convinces you that putting the worship of Jehovah first is always best?
I am convinced by the text of Matthew 6:33, because it says therefore keep seeking first the Kingdom and the justice of God, and then you will also receive all those things. And this logically includes what is necessary for their own support and to maintain the family.
SUMMARY
Work and money are necessary, but they should never divert us from serving Jehovah.
Money and work are necessary. But if we worry more than necessary, even if this is a legitimate concern, it will distract us spiritually from the truly important things, such as our ministry, our friendship with Jehovah, attendance at meetings, and spiritual nourishment. If we neglect ourselves in this sense, we can end up trusting more in ourselves, and in the power of money than in Jehovah, and this sooner or later will lead us to lose Jehovah's approval and eternal life.
Review
What can help you see work in a balanced way?
What can help us to see work in a balanced way is to meditate on and apply Biblical Principles such as that of Ecclesiastes 2:24 that urges us to imitate Jehovah by doing good workers, enjoying the fruit that work produces, being satisfied with what we get through it, and not letting it interfere with our worship.
Another principle that will help us in this sense is that of John 6:27, where Jehovah promises us that he will give us what we need to live, as long as we put it first in our lives.
What advantages are there in being satisfied with what you already have?
There are many advantages, for example: we get rid of the frustration of looking for more and more material things or what money can buy. We also save ourselves unnecessary debt and avoid the dangers of gambling and chasing get-rich-quick opportunities.
If Jehovah promises to provide for his servants, how can you show that you trust him?
I could demonstrate it by avoiding overloading with work that takes up a lot of time, also by avoiding having more than one job, because this would be a distraction in a spiritual sense and a trap that would physically exhaust me and would prevent me from attending meetings and fulfilling the spiritual activities that they are made in family.
I would also demonstrate it by being patient when choosing a job, in order to choose one that does not interfere with my worship of Jehovah, I would also demonstrate it by making wise decisions and not giving in to the pressure of the bosses at work as the brother of the video.
In the case of being unemployed, I would show it by following Jehovah's advice, also praying meditating on Biblical principles that can help spiritually to make good decisions. And putting matters in the hands of Jehovah while I dedicate myself to looking for a job but without neglecting my service.
I can show that I Trust Jehovah by trying not to be bitter or blaming Jehovah, but rather by being content with what I have, even if it is little, and trusting that Jehovah will somehow give me what I need to live, while earning a living. new job.
Think about whether your job has prevented you from attending several meetings in the past few months. If so, try to see how you could improve the situation.
set your mind to this
Try to respect work hours and avoid overtime.
Be more organized and orderly at work so as not to overload myself with responsibilities at work
Don't take my work home.
Meditate on the Biblical Principles of Ecclesiastes 2:24 and John 6:27 to restore priorities in my life and give Jehovah the first place he deserves again and demonstrate it by attending meetings.
