LIVING AS CHRISTIANS: January 16-22, 2023, Video, Because we have faith in...the word of God, Analysis and Answers.

“How to strengthen our faith in the Word of God” (15 min.): Analysis with the audience and video.

What details of the relief discovered in a temple in Karnak (Egypt) confirm that the Word of God tells the truth?

For example, about an Egyptian pharaoh, the Bible says that he invaded Judah in the fifth year of King Rehoboam of Judah, and this fact was confirmed by a relief discovered in a temple in Egypt, in which he was seen together with some captives. In addition, you can see names of conquered Israelite cities, many of which correspond to places in the Bible.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

For example, before finding this relief, the Bible was the only record where it said that the Egyptian Pharaoh invaded Judah during the reign of King Rehoboam, now this relief is proof that the Bible told the truth and also spoke of Abraham's field, so without a doubt this strengthens our confidence that the Bible is the word of God.

And it also mentions the field of Abraham, and this is the oldest reference in Egyptian records to this patriarch of the Bible, so this certainly strengthens our confidence that the Bible is the word of God.

What proof do we have that the message of the Bible has not been changed?

Well, we know that the Bible was written on perishable materials such as papyrus and parchment, so there are no originals available, but there are a large number of ancient copies, approximately 11 Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, and when comparing the most important manuscripts, experts They come to the conclusion that the vast majority of the differences between them do not change the meaning, for example Luke 4: 17 says that Jesus opened the scroll of Isaiah, and other manuscripts say that he unrolled the scroll, both words give to understand the same

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

We know that the bible was written on perishable materials such as papyrus and parchment, but this does not mean that its message has been altered because there are 11 Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, and when comparing them we conclude that the differences that exist between them do not change the meaning, for example Luke 4: 17 says that Jesus opened the scroll of Isaiah, and other manuscripts say that he unrolled the scroll, as we see both words mean the same thing.

We also know that God's message remains intact although been translated into different languages, as the writers of the Christian Greek scriptures quoted from the Hebrew scriptures, but often using the Greek Septuagint text, sometimes paraphrasing these quotes using different words but the message was the same.

What does the fact that the Bible has survived to this day teach us? (Read Isaiah 40:8.)

It teaches us that it is really the word of God, because it has suffered too many attacks throughout history and many people gave their lives to defend it and preserve it over time.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

What it teaches us is that the Bible is the word of God, because it demonstrates its power even when at one time the majority wanted to exterminate it, as the text of Isaiah 40 says: 8, the word of God will remain forever.

ANALYSIS OF OTHER ADDITIONAL POINTS OF THE VIDEO.

The Book of Acts tells of real people and real events and stories in real places. Archeology has confirmed the existence of at least 53 people mentioned in the Hebrew scriptures, an example being the Egyptian pharaoh Shishak. The Bible says that this Pharaoh invaded Judah exactly in the fifth year of King Rehoboam of Judah. For a long time, the only place where this invasion was mentioned was in the Bible, until a relief was discovered on a wall in the temple of Karnak in Egypt, showing A Sisac and some captives.

The relief also includes names of conquered Israelite cities, many of which correspond to places in the Bible. It also mentions Abraham's field. This is the oldest reference in Egyptian records to this Biblical patriarch, Abraham. this strengthens our confidence and our faith that the Bible is the word of God.

The Bible was written on perishable materials, such as papyrus and parchment. Although there are no originals available, the number of ancient copies that exist is impressive, some 11,000 thousand Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, many more than any other work of ancient literature, when comparing the oldest and most relevant manuscripts among themselves the experts errors that may have been introduced can be identified, but the vast majority of differences do not change the meaning. An example is Luke 4:17 which says that Jesus opened the scroll of Isaiah, some manuscripts say that he unrolled the scroll, but it is true that the meaning is the same, God's message remains intact even if it has been translated into different languages.

The writers of the Christian Greek scriptures quoted from the Hebrew scriptures, but often using the Greek Septuagint text, sometimes paraphrasing various quotes using different words, but the message was still the same and much of what Jesus probably said in the Hebrew of his time was written in Greek, yet his message is clear. Today the word of God can be read at least in part in more than 3,000 languages.

In the history of the Bible there is an interesting paradox, many people were willing to die to preserve the Bible and to make it accessible to the whole world, while others were willing to kill to put an end to it to prevent it from being read, because for its content is the word of God and it is alive and acting with power.

The Bible changes people's lives, some accept it but others oppose it sometimes with violence, for example in the year 303 of our era the Roman Emperor Diocletian ordered the Holy Scriptures to be burned, according to what Felix the Bishop of Tibio seems , he said before, he would prefer that they burn me alive, and not the divine scriptures, he paid for it with his life. Today some still try to destroy the message of God but the word of our God stands forever.
