APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: December 19-25, 2022, Speech, Lesson 14, Assignment Prepared.
Talk (5 min.): w20.11 15 par. 14. Title: How to pray for those who are persecuted (th lec. 14).
In the Bible it was prophesied that Satan would persecute Christians in different ways. One of them is persecution or imprisonment. Is there anything we can do to help the brothers who are suffering persecution? Of course they do, we can pray for them. Since in the Bible it says that the request of the just man is very strong, but now we can ask ourselves, what can we ask for in our prayers? To answer that question we are going to turn to the Bible, the word of God, in 1 Timothy 2:1 -2, Yes, you found it. Please accompany me with the reading, it says like this:
LET'S READ 2 TIMOTHY 2:1-2.
So first of all I recommend that you pray, pray, intercede and give thanks for all kinds of people, for kings and for all those who occupy high positions, so that we can continue to lead a calm and calm life with total devotion to God* and seriousness.
As we see here, Paul encouraged Christians to pray for the authorities, for what purpose? So that they allow us to lead a quiet life, and be able to continue preaching. And when we have to make decisions, these do not affect our Christian activities.
Now let's see another beautiful example that the Bible mentions, and that we can copy ourselves. When Paul and Peter were persecuted, the Christians prayed for them. Let's see this account in Acts 12:5, it says:
LET'S READ ACTS 12:5.
So they left Pedro locked up in prison. Meanwhile, the congregation did not stop praying fervently to God for him.
Now, we notice that the whole congregation prayed for them. If we recognize the value of our prayers, we will strive to make these requests, for those who suffer persecution or are imprisoned.
Or why not include them by their own name. What will help is to review our website and go to the press section, there we can find all the names and experiences of brothers who are incarcerated, and if we do not remember their names, the recommendations are to write it down on a piece of paper and have it nearby to read them in our prayers, or something we can also do is mention the Congregation, Country or Region where they are.
Our prayers can have a positive effect, as it happened in the time of the Christians. Let's read Acts 27:3 please and see what positive effect our prayers can have. Says so:
LET'S READ ACTS 27:3.
The next day we landed at Sidon. Julio treated Pablo kindly and allowed him to visit his friends and let them take care of him.
So, dear brothers, we can pray to Jehovah, Influence the minds of the guards who guard our brothers, so that they feel motivated to act like Julio, and treat them with human kindness.
That's right, dear brothers, we don't know when our brothers will be released. But we can be sure that such prayers will be answered.
