Watchtower Study, Keep Walking in Truth, 17-23 October 2022, Comments and Responses.

“Nothing gives me more joy than to hear that my children continue to walk in the truth” (3 JOHN 4).

1. Why is it good for us to talk about how we came to know “the truth”?

Because it reminds us how blessed we are to have found the truth and to be Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition, we are excited to hear the experiences of other brothers, since this reinforces our desire to continue walking in the truth to make Jehovah happy and have his blessing.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

These experiences that our brothers tell us about how they came to love and know Jehovah strengthens our ties and it is very nice to discuss these experiences with our brothers mutually, this helps us since we are very fortunate to be Jehovah's Witnesses, here in third of John 4 is mentioned nothing gives me more joy than to hear that my children continue to walk in the truth, then we rejoice the heart of Jehovah when we continue to walk in the truth and something very important that he gives us his blessings. When we talk about how we learned the truth our appreciation for this privilege is strengthened.

Yes, many people like to ask a married couple how they met, but I also like this question of asking how you knew the truth, because I feel that many times we can know Jehovah better as he makes himself known at that specific moment when the brother or sister My sister needed to know him and well me too, so as Romans 1:11 says, this strengthens us.

And they serve a double purpose because that conversation of how we learned the truth reminds us how lucky we are to be Jehovah's Witnesses and also reinforces our desire to continue walking in the truth as 3 John 4 says.

Knowing why everything is going so badly and understanding what has happened so that the situation has become like this and having hope for a better future because it helps us helps us a lot, that is why it is good to have these conversations about how we have come to know to Jehovah.

2. What will we see in this article?

We're going to review some reasons why we love the truth, and we'll also see how we can continue to show that we value this precious gift. This will make us feel grateful to Jehovah and desire to speak the truth with others.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

and this is where the biblical text of John 6:44 stands out, no one can come to the father unless he draws him, so this facet gives us one more reason to feel grateful.

WHY WE LOVE “THE TRUTH”

3. What is the most important reason we love the truth?

It is that we love Jehovah who is the source of truth, it is that through his word the Bible teaches us all the truth about him. For example, that he has beautiful qualities, such as love and compassion, he also tells us that it hurts him to see us suffer and that he wants to end all the suffering that human beings have very soon.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

If the most important is because we recognize that he is the source, it really hurts him and we have learned this through reading the word of God where we know that he is the Almighty God and that he created the heavens the earth and also as First Peter says 5:7 has beautiful qualities his love makes him care about us and invites us to cast our burdens on him, and the other qualities also invite me to love Jehovah more and recognize that he deserves our worship.

Well yes because we love Jehovah who is the source of truth and thanks to his word the Bible we have been able to learn that he is the Almighty God and above all that he loves us and cares about us.

Jeremiah 29:11 says because I know very well what I have in mind for you affirms Jehovah I want you to have peace not calamity, I want to give you a future and hope that is why in the paragraph it says that Jehovah hurts a lot to see us suffer and is eager to finish with suffering when the time comes that he has entrusted, that's why we long for that day to come.

In addition, the truth also helps us to know that Jehovah is a God who loves justice and living in a world that is full of injustice is the quality that attracts us a lot.

We also love Jehovah because, as 1 Peter 5:7 tells us, he cares about us and wants us to cast all our concerns on him.

4, 5. Why did the apostle Paul say that our hope is like an anchor?

Paul knew that anchors do their job of stabilizing a ship, especially during violent storms. In the same way, our hope stabilizes us so that we do not turn away from Jehovah when we go through problems, which are like storms.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

If we start to analyze when a boat needs an anchor and it is when the weather is turbulent there is instability and they feel that they can sink, then they drop that anchor and that helps stabilize the boat, in the same way the hope we have in Jehovah that peace that he wants to give us and tranquility is our sure anchor that sustains us in turbulent times.

Firm hope gives us stability and calm, since we know that better times will come soon and that we can live forever, knowing this gives meaning to our lives. For just as an anchor gives stability to a ship, the hope that the Bible gives us gives us stability and also the calm that we need when difficulties come.

Most people today live only to be born, grow, reproduce and die and there is no more meaning in life, but when we acquire true hope it is not even an illusion if it is not something real, then our meaning in life changes. and it really has a purpose.

The apostle Paul when he said these words, he was referring both to the heavenly hope that the anointed ones are going to have and the earthly hope that the other sheep are going to have, therefore our hope becomes like a firm and sure anchor that although come problems helps us to be firm.

And this hope is based on the sacrifice that Jesus made and as John 3:16 shows, the love of God was what motivated him to do all that in our favor, so that hope is based on the love that Jehovah feels for humanity, not it is an empty hope but a very solid hope.

That wonderful hope that we have through the death of Christ is what is giving meaning to our lives.

6, 7. How did what the Bible teaches about the future help Yvonne?

Yvonne says that discovering that the Bible teaches that we can live forever in paradise on earth has given her peace of mind, she no longer lives in fear or stays awake at night thinking about the future or death. So knowing this truth has given her life real meaning and she is happy to be able to teach this Hope to others. Yvonne was a girl who was very afraid of death and says that once she read a book that one day there will be no tomorrow and this girl's concern was such that it even took away her sleepless nights, but when she was a teenager she met some Jehovah's Witnesses and says that she began to believe and now she preaches the hope she has to other people.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

We see how sister Yvonne already had stability, she obtained calm, she has now felt her life and we see that because now she can sleep, she couldn't even sleep and now she already has hope and that is why she says that she began to believe that she could live for always in paradise on earth and I really like what he says at the end that now he loves to talk about his hope with other people, then his life has a new meaning.

She comments on how it has helped her in such a way that she says that I no longer stay awake at night thinking about the future or death, so we see how that has served her to make the truth an anchor in her life and be able to carry it well. finished.

First Timothy 4:16 says that we have to pay attention and not stop doing these things of speaking because it says that this will have repercussions for us to save ourselves and also those who listen to you, so this sister also speaks to other people about that hope and also motivates us to be the same.

So, how does preaching look like in the image, when people know what the Bible says, then they have that anchor, that stability that makes them feel calm in the midst of difficulties, as happened to this example that we have seen in the paragraph that Knowing the truth calmed her down.

We see how Jehovah gives us the stability we have, and we know that soon, even though we have difficulties and go through bad times, we know that speaking the truth with another person will strengthen us and we will achieve the peace we need.

ILLUSTRATION

Image series: An anchor within a circle. 1. A paradisiacal landscape in which mountains, valleys full of vegetation and a river can be seen. 2. A sister preaches to a woman.

The truth of the Bible is like an anchor: Just as an anchor gives stability to a ship, the hope of the Bible gives us stability and calm when difficulties come. Biblical truth also prompts us to share our hope with others. (See paragraphs 4 to 7).

8, 9. (a) How did the man in Jesus' comparison show that he valued the treasure he found?

He proved it when he made the great sacrifice of selling everything he had to keep the treasure for himself. This man understood that the treasure was worth much more than anything he could give in return.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

If in verse 44 it says that he sold everything he had, then this shows us that it really was something that he made a great sacrifice to keep because, because he understood that it was something very valuable so it was more valuable than anything he could have and that is precisely why I buy it.

Although this man was not looking for the treasure we found it and he made a great sacrifice because he sold everything he had and he did it precisely because he understood the value of that treasure, so he knew that nothing could compare to that treasure.

If we see it says that the man found it he wasn't looking for it, normally when we find something and we don't find the owner we think it's ours and in this case he says no, he left it again he buried it and then he did what was necessary to have the issues in order and buy that field and now it did belong to him, he understood that it required a sacrifice and not just because he had found it already belonged to him, then we see that Jehovah has a way of thinking when we know the truth.

The comparison that Jesus made clearly shows that when the man found the treasure, he hid it again and from the joy that it gave him, he went and sold everything he had and bought that field, so we can see that this man made a great sacrifice because he knew I had found something very valuable. This story teaches us that just like that treasure that this man found, we have also found a very valuable treasure which is the truth of the word of God and we show that we value it when we make the sacrifice of leaving everything to serve Jehovah and have a close friendship with Jehovah and become his friend.

b) How do you feel about the truth?

I feel a great gratitude for having learned the divine truths, they are as valuable and refreshing as clean and fresh water that allow me to get closer to our loving creator Jehovah and have a friendship with him. They have also given a real meaning to my life.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

A great joy of serving Jehovah the Almighty God and that joy is not compared to anything that this world can offer us, then this joy is a joy that fills us with great hope of having the possibility of being under the reign of Jesus Christ and then live in a beautiful land where we can enjoy, they did not get sick, no longer have problems or difficulties and well, well, it is worth making an effort to have such a close relationship with Jehovah so that we can be his friends and it will be a great honor to be in that beautiful paradise.

Well, also something similar because I see the value and all the wishes that one wishes in the past as riches or other material things, they do not compare with this treasure because it goes beyond this, so any sacrifice that I have made is worth it .

Just like this man who finds this hidden treasure, for us it is so valuable to be part of Jehovah's family to be able to be his friends and serve him and the beautiful hope that he has given us that any sacrifice we make is worth it, we do not doubt that such a valuable treasure that we have and that is why we are not going to allow anything to take it away from us.

For me personally it is a liberation because as we know we can only serve one of the two masters that exist, one is in the world and the other is Jehovah, when we serve Jehovah we are liberated because we are not slaves to a future in which we do not have a hope but that Jehovah gives us all the resources we need to be happy to be in a family that has no borders and is global, which is why it is an immense privilege for me to be in this family.

For me, the truth has given meaning to my life because when one knows the truth, one realizes how vain the rest of the objectives that this life can have are, that is why the truth is what really fills my life and that is why what I try to fight to firmly follow and be faithful to Jehovah.

10, 11. What prompted Michael to change the course of his life?

What drove Michael was that he valued the truth he had found, he comments that every time he learned about Jehovah, he loved him more and as he wanted to please him he made radical changes in his life, he gave up karate and is convinced that it is worth serving to Jehovah.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Well, it was the fact that he understood what Jehovah thought about what he practiced, because for example he said he was proud of my good physical condition sometimes I felt invincible but when he began to learn what Jehovah thinks about violence, he He himself went so far as to say that he was convinced that he had to make a change in his life in order to please Jehovah and feel good.

So what drove him was precisely his love for Jehovah, every time he learned more about Jehovah, the more he wanted to apply in his life, as James 1:25 says, what he was learning from him at that time and then he showed now that he did value all this by making a drastic change in his life and this was what drove him.

If he himself explained that they never told him that he had to get rid of those practices or leave those martial arts, but what they did was concentrate on teaching them the truth well.

Without a doubt it was love for Jehovah because we see Michael was not raised in the truth and he had learned martial arts and he liked it a lot but we see that later he learned what Jehovah thought of violence that evidently as Psalms 11:5 says he hates violence and began to make changes.

An idea that says that each one in his heart can know that Jehovah feels compassion for all his servants, that's right, this was what made him value the truth and made him make radical changes in his life.

 ILLUSTRATION

Yes, because we see that being able to live under this kingdom of God cannot be compared with anything that this world can offer us, that is why many brothers have even left a career that earned a lot of money and many material things, but it has deserved the pity because they have found the true treasure that is to be in the people of Jehovah.

Image series: A diamond within a circle. 1. A paradisiacal landscape in which mountains, valleys full of vegetation and a river can be seen. 2. A man gets rid of a box full of trophies and awards.

The truth of the Bible is like a treasure:  Serving Jehovah now and hoping to serve him forever under the Kingdom of God is priceless. Any sacrifice we make is worth it. (See paragraphs 8 to 11).

12, 13. How did the truth of the Bible enlighten Mayli?

The truth of the Bible gave Mayli logical answers to questions that she asked herself, such as: Why did God create us, what is the point of someone suffering all their lives and then being tormented in hell, if we are puppets in the hands of God or will she enjoy seeing us suffer, today she expresses that she is very grateful that the light of the word of God has illuminated her path now she sees life with different eyes and has Peace.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

In her case, she did not doubt the existence of God, but there were things that she did not understand. She had very interesting questions, the truth, because she said what was the point of someone suffering all their lives and then being tormented in hell, or she wondered what people say that everything that happens is the will of God, so she asked we will be puppets in the hands of God she enjoys seeing us suffer, well when she learned the truth of the bible and the logic that contains the answers she received now She saw life with different eyes and received the peace that she was looking for so much. It was really as First Peter 2:9 says, she saw how the Lord called her from darkness to his wonderful light.

Yes, what really strikes me about this experience is that her father was Muslim and her mother Jewish, we know that these religions often have many traditions but there are also their own doctrines, and the fact that she asked these fundamental questions and I couldn't find the answers. I can only imagine how that relief felt when she saw that what the Bible says is actually so logical and that she could have that light that can guide her in the rest of her life.

We see that she had certain concerns that she could not find answers to many questions and in the end, as she says in her words, the overwhelming logic of the Bible was revealed taking into account that she came from a family in which there were two different religions at home but still so no one solves your doubts.

The questions that she asks herself here in the paragraph about why God created us or if it is God's will everything that happens is God's will and if we are puppets in his hands made me think that sometimes when we have been in the truth or were we born in the truth the answers to these questions we take for granted is how you answered them easy, but that is the purpose of the Watchtower today that we think again because we are here because we love the truth and that in reality there are people who follow looking for the answer to these questions and we have to find them.

ILLUSTRATION

Well, we have to have a good habit of studying the Bible since there you see the sister who is reading the Bible and then also meditate, after reading it is important that we meditate what we are reading and how it applies to us and how we we can see in the framework of that reading.

Image series: An oil lamp within a circle. 1. A paradisiacal landscape in which mountains, valleys full of vegetation and a river can be seen. 2. A young woman meditates on what she has read in the Bible.

The truth of the Bible is like a lamp:  A powerful lamp helps us not to get lost in the dark. Similarly, although we live in Satan's dark world, God's Word lights our way. (See paragraphs 12 and 13).

14. What can we do to love the truth more? (Also see the box “Other Comparisons”).

What we can do is find out more reasons why we should value and love the truth.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Well, it would be interesting to set up a study project to investigate other reasons why we can love Jehovah and in this way we will feel that love that we will not be able to silence and we will overflow and demonstrate our love.

Sometimes that we like something or that catches our attention does not mean that we know about it, we can well watch a soccer game and not even be a soccer player or have any ball in this case we can know about Jehovah but here what He invites us to do is put on the goal and find out the reasons why we can love the truth and love Jehovah and that would already include us having a deep relationship with him.

We can set ourselves the goal of finding out other reasons to love the truth more, we know that the more we know Jehovah and his purpose, the more we want to tell others about it and that will make them see how much we love the truth.

ANSWERS BASED ON THE “OTHER COMPARISONS” BOX

For example, in this study we have seen comparisons that highlight the value of truth, we were told that a treasure is like an anchor and a lamp in the box we see two more examples. First, the truth of the Bible is like a mirror when we look at ourselves in it, we can see what we are inside and what we have to improve. The second example is just as water refreshes us on a hot day, the waters of the truth of the Bible refresh us in this world that in a spiritual sense is like a desert.

I really like Santiago's comparison that the Bible is like a mirror because many people in this world seek to know themselves and turn to self-help self-analysis books, but the Bible is the one that best helps us to know ourselves and not based on the words of man on what they think but who I think knows us best.

HOW WE SHOW THAT WE LOVE THE TRUTH

15. What is one way to show our love for the truth?

One of the ways is by frequently studying the Bible and its publications.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Our constant and continuous in-depth study of the word of God makes us precisely demonstrate that we love it, because the more we want to know, the more we investigate, the more we understand, the more we become attached to Jehovah, our relationship with him becomes so intimate because we get to know him what he is. the purpose of knowing fully in Jehovah his purpose, his promises, his advice and his laws, knowing Jesus and Jehovah in this way attaches us so much to the truth that this motivates us to continue investigating is a diet that if we ask Jehovah that we consider that diet always with a yearning we can achieve it this way because our faith and our hope are strengthened.

If it doesn't matter how much time we have in truth we will always have to be learning something else and how these words mention that it seems like a beautiful poem we shouldn't settle for a single flower we should keep picking.

One way is to regularly study the Bible and our publications, as the paragraph says, there are always things to learn, we should not settle for a single flower of truth, but keep picking, keep searching, the effort is really worth it and our love for the truth will grow more.

This beautiful illustration teaches us that if we love the truth we cannot remain superficial in the simple in going to the meeting in listening going to preach we need something more we need to go deeper we need to make an effort because if we do not do this following the example of this illustration at the end we are showing that we do not really value the enormous privilege that we have to be within the people of Jehovah, that is why it requires effort, it requires dedication and the blessings are much greater than any effort that we are going to make.

16. What study method has worked well for you? (Proverbs 2:4-6).

Studying at night in a quiet place without distractions allows me to concentrate and better understand some point of the Bible. I also look for additional information that reinforces the material I am considering. I have made up my mind to pay the price in time and effort as I study God's word.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Personally, my brother helped me a lot, preparing me for when I'm going to give a study forces me to study but many times when they ask questions then they force me to study and although it is a method we could say forced, however it has given me very good results because I don't I only answer the student's answer but my faith is strengthened through study.

Yes, the experience here in Brother Corey's magazine that he studies a single verse but he analyzes it very well and it catches my attention because I also suddenly like to analyze a very specific part to see the context, leave some other references, it is not about quantity, it is about the determination and the effort that we make in discovering more and more of the truth.

Well, the truth is that the method that this brother mentions that when he does his reading he says that he focuses on a verse and then looks for the references and begins to investigate, we have it very easy now because when we do the reading there are always asterisks that we only have to click and there they take us to publications where he tells us about the text and that enriches the reading, the truth is that I put it into practice and I have learned many things that I did not know that I did not know despite the time and that have been good for me .

And as the paragraph says, we all like to read, we like to study, but a phrase that I really liked says that Jehovah asks us to continue seeking his knowledge with the aim of better understanding the truth, and when we have that in mind, that is our goal. Well, it is true that although we do not like it or it is not something that at that moment we feel like spending that time with that objective, it will be that we can study and enjoy that moment and it will be something more pleasant each time.

17. What does it mean to live the truth? (James 1:25).

It means that we must put into practice in our life Everything we learn about it, in James 1:25 it says that he who looks carefully at the perfect law not only hears, but does the work and this will make him happy. So in our daily lives we must live the truth as we strive to reach the goal of eternal life.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Living the truth means putting into practice everything we learn about it, as well as self-examination to see what we are doing wrong or what we can improve on, only then will it give us true happiness and make us truly happy with what we do.

Yes, for what we learn to influence our minds and hearts, we obviously have to study and reflect, but as the text says, we have to persist and put into practice, only then will the truth become our way of life.

And also digging a little deeper and leaning on Philippians 3:16, it says that no matter how much progress we have made in the truth, we continue to walk correctly along that same path, then it is a continuous sense of learning that never ends.

Right now in the study we were seeing that the Bible compares itself to a mirror and the curious thing is that in James 1:25 the context speaks precisely of that, so when we see ourselves in the mirror Santiago says that it is not like we see ourselves and we leave , if we have something we take action then this is how we really live what we learn in this case we live what we see, then it should drive us that's why well says the brother a self-examination helps us to see if we are doing well that we can improve and we will continue .

It means putting into practice what we learn, it says that only then will the truth make us completely happy, we can ask ourselves if I am sure that I am living the truth, because the apostle Paul in Philippians 3:16 explains it very well, he said no matter how much we have progressed let us continue to walk correctly on that same path of truth.

Also, as a brother said, we have to examine ourselves to see that the things we are doing we are doing well according to Jehovah's standards.

18. Why do we do our best to keep “walking in the truth”?

Because it improves our lives, we gladden the heart of Jehovah and that of our Christian brothers who also strive to continue walking in the truth.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Yes, we also have to think that we make Jehovah's heart very happy because we have to think that it is a challenge that we bet Satan that we do not love him, so that is a way to make him happy.

Finally we know that Jehovah is going to give us enough strength to endure and because we know that it is where we can best be among Jehovah's people.

WHAT WOULD YOU ANSWER?

Why do we feel love for “the truth”?

The main reason is because we love Jehovah, who is the source of truth. Other reasons because the truth gives us real hope for the future, it also lights our way in this dark world. We also know that nothing this world offers us compares to the joy of serving Jehovah.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

One reason is that we love Jehovah and that he is the source of truth.

Yes, because thanks to his word the Bible I have met my loving father Jehovah and he loves me and is interested in me and has beautiful qualities, such as his mercy, compassion, patience, loyal love, knowing his word has helped me a lot in life, it has given me a hope that allows me to face the challenges of these last days.

And also many people also want to achieve many things in their life and so do we but we don't have time we don't have the money and thanks to the truth we know that we can do all things in the future in paradise and much better and so today we can be calm concentrating on the truth we do all we can for Jehovah.

It also gives us stability, it is an anchor that makes us feel sure that our future is secure, there is no reason to assume things, we are at peace, we know that Jehovah is going to free us from difficulties, but all that makes us love the truth, the tranquility that one acquires when one learns it.

Yes also because the truth has given meaning to our lives, one can think before knowing Jehovah how we lived and after knowing Jehovah and there is no point of comparison, then Jehovah from the moment we thought to know him our life began to improve by putting into practice the principles it teaches us.

What can we do to love the truth more?

What we can do is find out more reasons why we should value and love the truth, in this article we have seen that comparisons help us to value the truth more. So we must study and go deeper in our study so that we will have more reasons to love the truth.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

If one way to do it is to make an effort to study the Bible and the publications, we should make the effort, it is worth it. benefit then that is another way to make an effort to study and put into practice what we learn.

If we are also encouraged to set ourselves the specific goal of finding out other reasons why we love the truth and so the more we know the more we love the truth because the more we will show the love we feel for it.

The truth is like a mirror so when we look at ourselves in it we can see what we are inside and what we have to improve on just like when we see in a mirror some defect or something that we can improve or take away because in the same way we can do through the Bible.

How do we show that we love the truth?

One way is to frequently study the Bible and our publications, we must also continue to seek the knowledge of Jehovah with the goal of better understanding the truth, but mainly we must put it into practice.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

It is also self-examination to see what we are doing well but also to see our deficiency to try to improve on it.

In the article it was mentioned that we should see the truth as a small flower, if we see it we should pick it up and we should not settle for just picking one, in the same way if we want to show that we love the truth we should study the Bible and our publications, we must make an effort, it may cost us a bit of work, but we must always make sure that we understand the truth better and remember that no matter how long we have been in the truth, there are always new things that we can learn.

We do remember James 1:25 encouraged us not only to hear the truth but to become doers of it because if we succeed we will be completely happy.

Yes, we also demonstrate this love for the truth through the sacrifices that we also make, to demonstrate that there really is hope and the kingdom of God is an important part of our lives and it is what we are going to give priority to and that we are going to demonstrate if we have that love to Jehovah.

I also have to show that I love the truth by living or practicing what I learn because that way I can investigate or know if I'm doing things right or if I need to improve on something.
