Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Sunday September 18, 2022

I will praise Jehovah with all my heart among the assembled righteous and in the congregation (Ps. 111:1).

We all want students to get to baptism. One important way to do this is by encouraging them to attend meetings. Students who attend meetings right away are the ones who make the fastest progress. Some explain to their students that they will receive half of their Bible education in their weekly classes and the other half in meetings. Let's read Hebrews 10:24, 25 with the student and explain the benefits of attending the meetings. Let's excitedly tell him about something we learned at a recent meeting. That's more effective than just inviting them to attend. What he experiences at the first meeting will far exceed anything he has seen or heard at any other religious meeting (1 Cor. 14:24, 25). He will meet other people who are a good example for him and who will help him get to baptism. w20.10 10, 11 paras. 14, 15

According to Paul's words in Colossians 1:9, 10, what should we do for the student?

Talking to Jehovah about the student and his needs is also part of the preparation. Let us ask him to help us use the Bible in a way that reaches our hearts (read Colossians 1:9, 10). Let's think about whether there is something that is difficult for you to understand or accept. Let's not forget that our goal is to help you get to baptism.

How can we help the student prepare for classes?

We hope that regular Bible study will help the student to appreciate what Jehovah and Jesus have done and to want to learn more.—Matt. 5:3, 6. In order to get the most out of the classes, the student must concentrate on what he is learning. To do this, let's stress that it's important to prepare for each lesson by reading the information beforehand and thinking about how to put it into practice. We can help him by preparing a lesson with him to show him how it's done.* Let's teach him to look up the answer to the question and that marking a few words will help him remember the answer. Then ask him to answer in his own words. This way we will know if he has understood the information correctly. Let us see the third thing that the student must learn to do.
