DAILY TEXT, Today's Saturday October 1, 2022. But we do have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16).
Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022
Saturday October 1
“Who has come to know the mind of Jehovah that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16).
When we meet Jesus, we think and act like him. And, the better we know and imitate his way of thinking, the stronger our friendship with him will be. How can we imitate it? Let's see an example. Helping others was more important to him than pleasing himself (Matt. 20:28; Rom. 15:1-3). Since he thought in this way, he sacrificed himself for them and forgave them. He was not easily offended by what was said about him (John 1:46, 47). And he didn't “freeze” people in time by reminding him of his mistakes over and over again (1 Tim. 1:12-14). It is important to follow his example, for he said, “By this all men will know that you are my disciples: if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). Therefore, let us ask ourselves: “Just like Jesus, do I do everything possible to be at peace with my brothers?” w20.04 24 para. eleven.
How can we put Jesus' advice in Luke 16:9 into practice?
We also make friends with Jehovah and Jesus by using our money to support the work they lead (read Luke 16:9). For example, we can donate funds to the worldwide work to support the preaching work in isolated areas, the construction and maintenance of our theocratic facilities, and relief efforts. We can also make donations in our congregation and help the brothers who we know are in need (Prov. 19:17). In these ways we support the brothers of Christ.
According to Ephesians 4:15, 16, what is the fourth step in being friends with Jesus?
Fourth, let us support the decisions of the Christian congregation. Our friendship with Jesus, the head of the congregation, is strengthened when we collaborate with the brothers who are appointed to lovingly care for us (read Ephesians 4:15, 16). For example, the organization is making sure that we get the most out of Kingdom Halls. To that end, some congregations have been merged and some territories have been changed. As a result, many resources dedicated to God have been saved. On the other hand, due to these changes, some publishers have had to adapt to the new circumstances. Perhaps these faithful brothers have met for years in the same congregation and feel very attached to the brothers. But now they have been asked to serve in another congregation.
What will happen to our friendship with Jesus in the future?
Spirit-anointed Christians hope to be with Jesus forever and rule with him in the Kingdom of God. They will see him, talk to him, and spend time with him (John 14:2, 3). Those who hope to live on Earth will also enjoy the care and attention of Jesus. Although they will not see him, their friendship with him will grow stronger and stronger as they enjoy the life that Jehovah and Jesus have made possible for them.—Isa. 9:6, 7.
What blessings do we receive for being friends of Jesus?
When we accept Jesus' invitation to be his friends, we receive many blessings. For example, we have his love and support now. Also, we have the opportunity to live forever. And, above all, our friendship with Jesus will give us the most valuable friendship of all: that of his Father, Jehovah. What an honor it is to be friends with Jesus.
