There is going to be a resurrection (Acts 24:15).
When Jehovah resurrects people, he will give them back the memories and personality they had before they died. Let's think about what that implies. Jehovah loves each of us so much that he is aware of everything we think, feel, say, and do. So, if he had to resurrect us, it would be very easy for him to give us back our memories and our way of being and thinking. King David knew that Jehovah knows each of us very well (Ps. 139:1-4). How do we feel when we perceive how much we matter to him? Thinking that Jehovah knows us very well should not worry us. Why not? Let us remember that he loves us very much and that for him each one of us is special. In addition, he is very aware of the experiences that have marked our way of being. Isn't it very reassuring to know this? We should never feel alone for at all times Jehovah is by our side, pending how to help us (2 Chron. 16:9). w20.08 17 paras. 13, 14
Why is it reasonable to believe that those who receive the resurrected will be able to recognize their loved ones?
There are several reasons why we believe that those who receive the resurrected will be able to recognize their loved ones. For example, from the resurrections mentioned in the Bible, it appears that Jehovah will recreate people so that they have the same appearance, speech, and way of thinking that they had just before they died. Also, let us remember that Jesus said that being dead is like being asleep and that being resurrected is like waking up from a dream (Matt. 9:18, 24; John 11:11-13). When people wake up, their appearance, their voice and their memories are the same as when they went to sleep. Consider the case of Lazarus. When Jesus raised him, he had been dead for four days, so his body had begun to decompose. But his sisters recognized him instantly, and it is obvious that he remembered them (John 11:38-44; 12:1, 2).
Why won't the resurrected come back with a perfect mind and body?
Jehovah promises that under Christ's rule no one will say, “I am sick” (Isa. 33:24; Rom. 6:7). Therefore, when God recreates people who have died, he will give them a healthy body. Mind you, they won't be perfect right away. If they were, their loved ones might not recognize them. It seems that all mankind will gradually reach perfection during the Thousand Year Reign of Christ. Once that period of time is over, Jesus will return the Kingdom to his Father. Then this government will have fully accomplished its mission, which includes bringing humanity to perfection (1 Cor. 15:24-28; Rev. 20:1-3).
