Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Sunday, August 14, 2022

Make your ways known to me, O Jehovah; teach me your paths (Ps. 25:4).

What the student learns in the Bible course should not only reach the mind, but also the heart. Why? Because the heart - which includes desires, emotions and feelings - is what motivates us to act. Jesus came to mind because he taught logically. But people followed him because he also touched their hearts (Luke 24:15, 27, 32). The student must see Jehovah as a real person, someone with whom he can create a relationship as Father, God, and Friend (Ps. 25:5). During the Bible course, let us highlight the beautiful qualities of our God (Ex. 34:5, 6; 1 Pet. 5:6, 7). Regardless of what we are talking about, let him see what kind of person Jehovah is. Let's help him appreciate his love, his kindness, and his compassion. Jesus said that “the first and greatest of the commandments” is “Love the Lord your God” (Matt. 22:37, 38). Let us strive for the student to come to feel a very deep love for God. w20.10 10 para. 12

How should the teacher prepare for each Bible study session?

It is important that the teacher prepare well for each Bible study session. We can start by reading the information and looking for the texts. Let's identify the main points. Let's think about the title of the lesson, the subtitles, the questions, the “read” texts, the images and any videos that help us explain the topic. Then let's think about the student's circumstances and how we will explain the information to him in a clear and simple way so that he can understand and apply it (Neh. 8:8; Prov. 15:28a).

According to Paul's words in Colossians 1:9, 10, what should we do for the student?

Talking to Jehovah about the student and his needs is also part of the preparation. Let us ask him to help us use the Bible in a way that reaches our hearts (read Colossians 1:9, 10). Let's think about whether there is something that is difficult for you to understand or accept. Let's not forget that our goal is to help you get to baptism.

How can we help the student prepare for classes?

We hope that regular Bible study will help the student to appreciate what Jehovah and Jesus have done and to want to learn more.—Matt. 5:3, 6. In order to get the most out of the classes, the student must concentrate on what he is learning. To do this, let's stress that it's important to prepare for each lesson by reading the information beforehand and thinking about how to put it into practice. We can help him by preparing a lesson with him to show him how it's done.* Let's teach him to look up the answer to the question and that marking a few words will help him remember the answer. Then ask him to answer in his own words. This way we will know if he has understood the information correctly. Let us see the third thing that the student must learn to do.
