Become Jehovah's Friend: Make Sacrifices for Others (6 min.): Audience Discussion. Put the video. If possible, pick a few kids ahead of time and ask them:

What sacrifice did Sophia and Caleb make?

They wanted to go to the park, but they had to make a sacrifice and bring a brother, named Andrés, who needed a ride home and also needed help with other things.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Sofia and Caleb made the sacrifice of helping the brother instead of the brother instead of going to play in the park they accepted it without getting upset or anything like that.

Sofia and Caleb wanted to go to the park after the meeting but they had to help a brother with his things, so he got a little bored and then his mom gave him a story about Jesus.

Sofía and Caleb were excited to go to the park but they preferred to help their brother with the chores around the house, so the sacrifice was to stop doing what they wanted and do something for others.

How did Jesus' example help Caleb?

I help him understand that it is always good to make sacrifices to help someone, when they need it most.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

I help him by reflecting that it is good to help people by making sacrifices and we still feel happy.

It helped him think of others instead of himself.

It helped him to remember that sometimes Jesus wanted to rest but people asked him for help and he stopped doing what he wanted, which prompted him to help an older brother in his congregation.

What sacrifices have you made for Jehovah and for others?

The Bible also says that our expressions of praise to Jehovah can be considered as sacrifices. The prophet Hosea used the expression “the young bulls of our lips”, indicating that for God, the praise that proceeds from our lips is one of the best sacrifices.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Sometimes I have put aside activities such as going for a walk and instead I prefer to go to the house of an older sister to help her water her little dishes that she loves so much. Some of us make the sacrifice to stop working too much to focus more on our personal study and attend meetings as well. Also on other occasions we can make the sacrifice of accepting what others want since with something to eat, etc.

Sometimes there are problems at home so I help my mother with those problems and I also talk about Jehovah with my cousins about how we can make Jehovah happy.

Well, in my case, I like to rest until late, but when I get up early to preach at the meetings, I feel happy for his sacrifice to Jehovah and I like it when I try to encourage others with a letter or with my comments.
