Jehovah's acts of salvation fill us with joy (5 mins.): Discussion with the audience. Put the video. Then ask:
How did Jehovah help Brother Ganeshalingam's family during the civil war in Sri Lanka?
The situation that the Ganeshalingam family went through in the refugee camp was not at all favorable since they lived in tents and the heat was very strong. In the war they killed their eldest son and the only thing they could do was pray to Jehovah and seek comfort in the Bible, Jehovah helped them through the brothers of the relief committee by inviting them to the assembly, they were asking for permission four days in a row tomorrow and late, thank Jehovah, one day they were surprised by telling them that they could go out for 5 days, that was wonderful news. It was something they did not expect, but when they left, Jehovah took care of them, providing them with everything they would need, such as food, clothing, they felt very happy and blessed.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Well, Jehovah was always there, he was always taking care of them, for example, when a regional assembly was going to be held, they were insisting 4 days morning and afternoon to the officials to give them permission, also through the brothers Jehovah took care of that they will not lack anything so that they could attend the assembly.
Also as the brother mentions, that although it is true that they had many difficulties in the refugee camp but in reality the assembly was a true source of consolation because they enjoyed a great spiritual banquet, since there was even one of the speeches that was specially made to encourage those who were in the refugee camps.
How does this story strengthen your faith?
Jehovah was always with them and cared for them in every way, even encouraging them and making it possible to give them spiritual food.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This story strengthens my faith a lot because how much sacrifice is made by many brothers to continue serving Jehovah, with all the more reason we who still do not face a great persecution, and also this story strengthens my confidence that Jehovah always in one way or another, He will always be giving me his help.
And something that I really liked about this story is that in the final part, the brother mentions that his wife did not stop pioneering even when they were in the refugee camp, thus teaching us that we should not let the unfavorable circumstances that touch us pass make us slow down.
