Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022
Friday June 17, 2022
None of you can be my disciple if you do not say goodbye to all your possessions (Luke 14:33).
Jesus used a couple of examples to teach what someone must do to be his disciple. He spoke of a person who wants to build a tower and a king who is going to go out to war against another. He said that the one who wants to build the tower must first sit down to "calculate the expenses and see if he has enough to finish it", and that the king must first sit down and consult to see if the soldiers can achieve their objective (Luke 14: 27-32). Jesus knew that, in a similar way, anyone who wants to be his disciple must think carefully about what he must do to achieve it. In order for the person to do what Jesus said, we must encourage him to study every week. It is important that the teacher prepare well for each Bible study session. Let's think about the student's circumstances and how we will explain the information to him in a clear and simple way so that he can understand it and apply it (Neh. 8:8; Prov. 15:28a). w20.10 7 para. 5; 8 para. 7
Why is it important for students to read the Bible daily, and what should they do to get the most out of their reading?
In addition to receiving weekly classes with their teacher, it is good for the student to do certain things each day on their own. You must communicate with Jehovah by listening to him and talking with him. The way to hear it is by reading the Bible every day (Josh. 1:8; Ps. 1:1-3). Let's teach him how to use the Bible reader, which is available on jw.org and is available for printing.* Of course, to get the most out of his Bible reading, let's encourage him to ponder what it teaches him about Jehovah and how you can put what you learn into practice in your life (Acts 17:11; Jas. 1:25).
How can a student learn to pray, and why is it important that he pray often?
Let's encourage the student to talk to Jehovah by praying to him every day. Let us pray from the heart at the beginning and end of each class, and mention the student. He thus he will learn to pray from the heart and address Jehovah in the name of Jesus Christ (Matt. 6: 9; John 15:16). Imagine how close you will get to God when you hear him reading the Bible every day and talk to him in prayer (Jas. 4:8). These good habits will help you achieve something that can lead to dedication and baptism. Let's see what this is about.
