Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Nothing can separate us from the love of God (Rom. 8:38, 39).

Jesus said that if we don't apply what we learn, we are like a man who builds his house on sand. He works hard, but his efforts are useless. Why? Because, when the storms and floods come, the house will collapse (Matt. 7:24-27). Similarly, if we don't apply what we learn, our efforts will have been for nothing. When trials or persecution come, our faith will not be strong enough. On the other hand, if we study and apply what we learn, we will make better decisions, have more peace, and our faith will be strengthened (Is. 48:17, 18). To be loyal in the face of trials, we need to pray to Jehovah with confidence and have good study habits. We must not forget that one of the most important things we can do is bring glory to Jehovah. We can be sure that he will never abandon us and that no one can do anything to stop him from loving us (Heb. 13:5, 6). w21.03 15 para. 6; 18 para. twenty

What could King David have done?

Next, imagine how David must have felt. He loved Absalom and trusted Ahithophel. Still, the two betrayed him. They caused him a lot of pain and even tried to kill him. David might have thought that his other friends had also joined Absalom and mistrusted them. He could have focused on his feelings and tried to flee the country on his own. Or, desperate, he could have given up. But he didn't do any of that. Rather, he passed this difficult test. How could he do it?

What did King David do in that difficult situation?

3) Meditate. What principles can we learn from this account? We can ask ourselves, "What did David do to help himself?" He did not allow fear to paralyze him or lead him to make rash and unwise decisions. What he did was pray to Jehovah for his help. He also asked his friends for help. And, when he made decisions, he carried them out quickly, without procrastinating. Although he was very hurt, he did not become bitter or distrustful. He continued to trust Jehovah and his friends.

How did Jehovah help David?

How did Jehovah help David? If we investigate a little, we will learn that Jehovah gave him the strength he needed to endure that test (Ps. 3: 1-8; heading). Jehovah blessed David's choices and supported the king's loyal friends as they fought to protect him.
