Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2022

Christ set the example for them to faithfully follow in his footsteps (1 Pet. 2:21).

The head of the family must be balanced. He should not spend so much time on his job that he neglects the spiritual and emotional needs of his family. He must educate her and correct her. Jehovah educates and corrects us thinking about what is best for us (Heb. 12:7-9). Like his Father, Jesus lovingly educated and corrected those under his authority (John 15:14, 15). He is firm but at the same time loving (Matt. 20:24-28). He knows that we are imperfect and that we tend to make mistakes (Matt. 26:41). The householder who imitates Jehovah and Jesus always bears in mind that his wife and children are not perfect, and he does not get bitterly angry with them (Col. 3:19). Rather, he applies the principle of Galatians 6:1 and tries to correct them “with a quiet spirit”, not forgetting that he too is imperfect. Like Jesus, He knows that the best way to teach is by example. w21.02 6, 7 paras. 16-18

What does Jehovah’s and Jesus’ example of humility teach householders?

What do we learn? A householder can demonstrate humility in many ways. For example, he does not expect his wife and children to be perfect. He pays attention to his family members' opinions, even if he doesn't agree with them. Marley, who lives in the United States, says: "My husband and I sometimes think differently about something, but I feel that I am important to him because he always asks for my opinion and analyzes it before making decisions." In addition, a humble man is willing to do housework, even if where he lives he thinks that these are women's things. This can be quite a challenge. Why? A sister named Rachel says, “Where I come from, if a man helps his wife wash the dishes or clean the house, his neighbors and relatives will question whether he is 'a real man.' They will think that he cannot control his wife.” If many people where you live think the same, remember that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples even though that was considered slave labor. A good family head will worry not about looking good, but about making his family feel good. In addition to humility, let us now see what other quality is essential for householders to have.

What do Jehovah and Jesus do for love?

Love. Everything that Jehovah does, he does out of love (1 John 4:7, 8). Lovingly, he meets our spiritual need through his Word and his organization. He attends to our emotional needs by reminding us how much he loves us. Furthermore, he “abundantly supplies us with everything we enjoy” in a material sense (1 Tim. 6:17). When we make mistakes, he corrects us, but he doesn't stop loving us. Out of love, Jehovah gave his Son to ransom us, and Jesus loves us so much that he was willing to give his life for us (John 3:16; 15:13). Nothing can quench the love these two have for those loyal to them (John 13:1; Rom. 8:35, 38, 39).
